Sri Adhi Kailasanatha Swamy Temple is located on the first main road of JB Estate in Avadi. It is just 50 metres away from the main road and temporarily there is a North facing entrance. Construction of a five tiered East facing Rajagopuram is almost completed and likely to be inaugurated soon. The full name of the Temple is Sri Mangalambigai Samedha Sri Adhi Kailasanathar Temple. On entering the Rajagopuram there is a small Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam which is kept in a small four pillared Mandapam. This Temple has a huge multi pillared Mandapam which contains the Shrine of Sri Adhi Kailasanathar, Goddess Mangalambikai and other Deities. The entire ceiling of this Mandapam has beautiful designs with gorgeous paintings. To the left is the Sub Shrine of Sri Vijaya Ganapathy who is seen East facing. To the right is the Sub Shrine of Sri Subramaniyar who is flanked on either side by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Adhi Kailasanathar is seen East facing and He is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is resplendent and dazzling to the eyes of the Devotees and there is a steady inflow of Devotees trickling to His Moolasthanam since He is considered as Omnipotent. Facing the Moolasthanam of Sri Aathi Kailasanathar is another small Neivedhya Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam. Atop the Moolasthana Mandapam a Kailaya Kola scene si depicted in an impressive way. Around the Koshatam of the Moolavar are the Idols of Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. Close to the Moolasthanam is the South facing Shrine of His Consort of Goddess Mangalambigai who is seen in a standing posture Blessing Her Devotees. Next to the Shrine of Goddess Mangalambika there is a South Sub Shrine for Sri Sivagami Ambal Samedha Sri Natarajar.
The outer peripheral of the Temple has a small North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Bhavani Amman before whom a Trident has been fixed. This Sub Shrine is beneath a combined Neem and Arasa Maram. On the other side of the same Sacred Trees there are Idols of Naga Devathas. There is a West facing Sub Shrine of Sri Aanjaneya Swamy who is seen in a standing posture. The Temple authorites have displayed the 63 Naayanmaars one beside the other and they are all North facing. Close to the 63 Naayanmaars but within the multi pillared Mandapam is a North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Thaai Mookambigai. There is a Trident, a small Neivedhya Peedam and a Simha Vaahanam facing the Sub Shrine of Sri Thaai Mookambigai. At the threshold of Her Shrine are two coloured Dwara Baalakis in a standing posture. Around the Koshtam of the Sri Thai Mookambikai are the Idols of Durgai, Lakshmi and Saraswathi. There is a Sub Shrine for Swamy Ayyappan in which He is seen East facing and in a sitting posture. There are two Dwara Baalakas who stand guard to the Shrine of Swamy Iyyappan. The Temple has a West facing Sub Shrine for Sri Saneeswara Bhagwan and next to this Sub Shrine is the Navagraha Sannadhi. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. It is said that Kanchi Maha Periyava had visited this Temple decades ago during which time the Kumbabishekam was performed. To the rear of the Temple there is an elongated hall in which Temple functions and other Divine Rituals could be performed and there is adequate space for the Devotees to sit and view.
The Temple is under the care and control of a Private Trust and Sri Saravanan Sivachariyar who is attached to this Temple for more than 15 years takes utmost care in preserving the Sanctity of the Temple and in all other religious matters. He has to be appreciated for his sincereity and modesty.
