Though the Temple is known as Sri Panchamugha Anjaneyar Temple many local Devotees refer this Temple by its full name as Sri Santhana Ganapathy and Sri Panjamukha Anjaneyar Temple. This Temple is located in a congested residential locality in 2nd Street, Ayyappa Nagar, Avadi. Some refer this place as Kamaraj Nagar instead of Ayyappa Nagar. This is a West facing Temple. Since the Temple is too small it cannot afford a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram, Rajagopuram etc. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Panchamukha Anjaneyar is made out of a dazzling black stone. As the name suggests the Moolavar Idol has five faces and is seen in a West facing standing posture. Hanuman, Narasimhar, Garudan, Varahar and Hayagreevar could be seen as the five faces of the Presiding Deity Panchamuga Anjaneya Swamy. Beneath the Moolavar there are Idols of Sri Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy. On entering the Temple there is a Lotus like structure on top of which the Navagraha Sannadhi is seen. The Temple also has a East facing Sub Shrine of Santhana Ganapathy and facing Him is His Moonjooru Vaahanam. The Moolavar Sannadhi has a small Gopuram and the Temple premises is covered with a temporary tin sheet roofing. The Moolasthanam could be circumambulated by the Devotees and this area is neatly pasted with different wallpapers bearing the Images of Sri Rama and Anjaneya Swamy. Around the Koshtam of the East facing Santhana Ganapathy there is a South facing Sub Shrine of Dhakshinamoorthy and a North facing Sub Shrine of Durgai Amman. Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi are celebrated in a grand manner.
There are hardly any Devotees visiting this Temple because the Purohits who manage this Temple just keep it open and go away elsewhere. Two Mobile Numbers are made available to the public but when the Devotees call them they would respond that they are busy and to call the other number. The same is the case with the other Mobile Number too. Though the Purohits are available in their house which is located to the rear of the Temple they hardly show any interest to come and perform the Pooja for the sake of the Devotees. Therefore Devotees could be lucky if they find the Temple open and the Purohits available. This problem has to be sorted out for the betterment of the Temple and for the Devotees plight, otherwise Devotees would be put to a great hardship in visiting this Temple.
