Sri Vishnu Durgai Amman Temple is located in a residential locality in Annamalai Nagar in Avadi quite far away from the main road. Some Devotees call this Temple as Sri Kalyana Ganapathi Temple. This is a very small Temple whose fame is spread quite high. This is a North facing Temple with a small Gopuram. Since the Temple is located close to a graveyard many consider this Vishnu Durgai Amman to be more aggressive. The Temple is totally covered with a tin sheet roofing so that the Devotees are not affected due to the vagaries of Nature. Towards the Moolasthanam there is a Trident and beyond it is a small Neivedhya Peedam and a Simha Vaahanam kept on a podium. On the left is a Idol of Ganapathy and He is known here as Kalyana Ganapathy. To the right is an Idol of Subramaniyar who is flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. This Kalyana Ganapathy and Sri Subramaniyar are similar to the Dwara Baalakas. Atop  the Sanctum Sanctroum there is a coloured Idol of Vishnu Durgai who is seen in a standing posture facing North. Within the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Vishnu Durgai looks resplendent to the eyes of the Devotees. She is seen facing North and in a standing posture. An Urchavamoorthy Idol too is kept within the Moolasthanam. Generally Vishnu Durgai is seen in many other Temples as a Deity. This Vishnu Durgai Temple is the only one of its kind where Vishnu Durgai is seen as a Presiding Deity and hence this Temple becomes more important. Around the Koshtam of the Presiding Deity of Sri Vishnu Durgai there are Idols of Iccha Sakthi, Kiriya Sakthi and Gnana Sakthi. Apart from the Presiding Deity of Sri Vishnu Durgai there is a Sub Shrine for Sri Thiripurasundari Samedha Sri Chandramouleeswarar who are East facing and there is a small Nandhi Vaahanam facing them. Close to this is another East facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Srinivasa Perumal is seen along with His Consort Sri Padmavathy Thaayar and facing them is a small Garudalwar Idol. There is a Sub Shrine for Veera Baktha Anjaneyar who is seen East facing and in a standing posture. He is usually garlanded with Betal Leaves or Vettrilai Malai. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi kept on top of a structure resembling a Lotus. Next to this is a West facing Ayyappan's Sub Shrine. There are 18 mini steps resembling the Sabarimalai. Sri Ayyappa Swamy is seen here in a sitting posture. Beyond this is a Sub Shrine for Kaala Bhairavar who is seen in a standing posture facing West. To the rear of the Temple there are two Trees of Arasa Maram and Veppa Maram beneath which there is an Idol of Naaga Devatha. It is believed that a live Serpent still lives within a natural hollow space around these Trees. The Temple has Thulabaara facilities for the sake of the Devotees. It is believed that Devotees are Blessed with Marriage, Child Boon and Cure for all their ailments by performing 48 days of fasting and 21 circumambulation around this Temple. Every year during Aadi Pooram childless Devotees are provided with sprouts as Prasadham in order to get a Kid. On every Full Moon day Special Poojas are performed  Monthly Pradosham is celebrated in a grand manner and on Theipirai Ashtami days Kala Bhairavar Pooja is performed.
