This Temple is located in the intersection of KK Nagar where Ramasamy Salai cuts across Ponnambalam Salai. Hence the Temple has two main gates and could be entered either through Ponnambalam Salai or Ramaswamy Salai. It is believed that this Temple was built initially in a small way in the year 1968 / 1969 wherein the Deity of Muthu Mariamman was installed. The Temple does not have any Rajagopuram. The Presiding Deity is Sri Muthu Mariamman who is considered as Goddess Sakthi. The Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple is East facing. A Trident, a Bali Peedam and a Simha Vaahana Idol faces the Sanctum Sanctorum. Since the Temple is located in a busy KK Nagar area in Chennai there is a steady stream of Devotees for Sri Muthu Mariamman. Close to the Moolasthanam is a Sub Shrine for Sri Sundareswarar who is found in His Shrine as a Shiva Lingam. Just outside His Shrine is a small Sub Shrine for Meenakshi Amman who is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Parvathy. Around the Koshtam of Sri Sundareswarar's Shrine there are Idols for Ganapathy, Dakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhavar, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. There are Sub Shrines for Siva Sakthi Vinayagar, Sri Devi Bhoo Devi Samedha Srinivasa Perumal, Garudalwar, Baktha Anjaneya Swamy, Prathyangira Devi, Valli Devasena Samedha Subramaniyar, Kala Bhairavar and a Navagraha Sannadhi. The Temple has a dilapidated Neem and Peepal Tree on a podium and beneath them are the Idols of Naga Devatha and an Amman. The ceiling of the Temple are highly decorative and the Temple has multiple pillars which are all painted gorgeously. The Temple has tinned roofing in some of the vacant areas so that the Devotees visiting this Temple are saved from the vagaries of nature. This is a Govt. undertaking Temple. Meenakshi Thirukalyanam, Aani Thirumanjanam, Skanda Shasti, Panguni Uthiram, Hanumath Jayanthi, Sankadahara Chathurthi are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. The Temple has a Madapalli or a Temple Kitchen for Prasadam distribution to the Devotees.
