The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Shanmugam who is none other than Lord Murugan Himself. He is found along with His Consorts Valli and Deivanai. Here Lord Murugan is known as Vadapalani Aandavar or Vadapalani Murugan. This Temple was built 125 years ago by Annasami Nayakar. After the Death of Annasami Nayakar the Temple Management was taken care by Mr. Rathinasamy Chettiyar. The Presiding Deity looks identical to the Deity found at Palani Aandavar Temple because of which this Temple is known as Vadapalani. Every year nearly 7000 marriages are performed in this Temple. There are Sub Shrines for Lords Varasidhi Vinayakar, Shivan, Chokkanathar, Chandikeshwarar, Dhakshnamoorthy and Goddesses Meenakshi, Kali, Mahalakshmi. There is a huge Temple Tank were many Poojas and Festivals are performed.
