Sri Prasanna Varadharaja Perumal Temple is located very close to Poonamallee High Road in Aminjikarai. It is a famous and renowned Vaishnava Temple and the Rajagopuram of the Temple is East facing and is of five tiered. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and two Dwajasthambam facing the Moolasthanam. Beyond it is a multi pillared Mandapam and on top of this the Images of Dasavatharam and other Gods and Goddess are neatly displayed and they are all enclosed in a glass panel.
In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Prasanna Varadaraja Perumal stands East facing and is resplendent to the eyes of the Devotees. There are two Dwara Baalakas on the threshold of the Moolasthanam and the gateway is gold plated and looks glittering. His Consort here is Sri Perundevi Thaayar who is seen in a separate Shrine and is East facing. On circumambulating there is a Sub Shrine for Sri Anjaneya Swamy who is North facing. Next to Him is the Sub Shrine of Sri Krishna who is also North facing. Beyond it Sri Chakrathalwar and Sri Yoga Narasimhar share a Sub Shrine and are East and West facing respectively. Close to it the Text of Vishnu Sahasranamam has been etched on the Walls. Similarly the Idols of Sri Vishvaksenar, Sri Nammalwar, Sri Sriman Naathamunigal, Sri Uyyakondar, Sri Manakaal Nambi, Sri Alavandhar, Sri Periyanambi, Sri Thirukoshtiyur Nambi, Sri Thirukachi Nambigal, Sri Ramanujar, Sri Koorathalwar, Sri Mudhali Aandan, Sri Ambar, Sri Parasara Bhatttar, Sri Nanajeeyar, Sri Nammpillai, Sri Vadakku Thiruveedi Pillai, Sri Pillai Logachariar, Sri Thiruvaimozhi Pillai, Sri Manavala Maamunigal and Sri Pallikonda Ranganathar along with Thaayar are all kept and enclosed in a glass panel and the manner they have been displayed would impress any Devotee.
There is a East facing Sub Shrine for Sri Aandal and close to it Sri Srinivasa Perumal Sannadhi which is South facing. There is another multi pillared Mandapam in which there is a East facing Sri Ranganathar Sub Shrine and a South facing Sri Kothandaramar Sannadhi. The Kannadi Arai lies between the above mentioned two Sannadhis. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Athi Maram. Sri Rama Navami, Narasimha Jayanthi, Hanumath Jayanthi, Krishna Jayanthi, Panguni Brahmmothsavam are some of the festivals celebrated in a grand manner.
This Temple is gaining popularity gradually since many Hindu marriages in general are conducted here on a regular basis. This Temple has facilities to conduct upto 3 or 4 marriages simultaneously. Those who wish to get marriaged have to pay a sum of Rs.8,000/- and submit their proof of identity.
