Sri Santhana Srinivasa Perumal Temple is located in Mogappair in Chennai. Mogappair in earlier times was called as Magaperu which positively denotes the sanctity of this place. Later Maga Peru was called as Mugaperu and Mogappair now. There is a seven tiered East facing Rajagopuram. There are two attractive Elephant Idols which are East facing. Beyond the there are multiple pillars with Yaali and other Divine Idols on them. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a Garudalwar Sannadhi facing the Moolasthanam. To the left of the Dwajasthambam is the Temple's Thulaabaaram. On either side of the Garudalwar Sannadhi Gold plated Alwars Idols are seen facing the Moolasthanam. There are two black Dwara Baalakas before the Moolasthanam and two more coloured Idols of Dwara Baalakas are found closer to the Moolasthanam. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Santhana Srinivasa Perumal is seen standing alone and East facing. His upper two arms hold a Sangu and a Chakkaram. The right lower arm displays the Abhaya Hasta Posture and His left lower arm rests on His waist. On either side of the Moolasthana Mandapam is a Thumbikai Alwar and a Sudharshana Chakkaram. The Urchavamoorthy Idol too is seen within the Sanctum Sanctorum. It is customary here to bring out the Urchavamoorthy Idol to perform the Thirumanjanam.
In the outer peripheral there is a North facing Sub Shrine of Ganapathy and next to it is the huge coloured Idol of Geethobadesam. The next Sub Shrine beyond this is North facing in which Sri Veera Baktha Anjaneya Swamy is seen in a standing posture. There is a book stall known as Sri Santhana Srinivasa Religious Book Stall. The Consort of this Temple is Goddess Sri Santhana Lakshmi whose Shrine is East facing and She is seen in a sitting posture. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of Sri Santhana Lakshmi is seen in Her Shrine. A Temple Office functions next to this. The Andal's Sub Shrine is East facing wherein Aandal is seen in a standing posture. This outer peripheral has a gorgeous coloured Idol of Sri Srinivasa Perumal along with His Consort Sri Padmavathy Thaayar and both of them are East facing. There is a North facing Paramapadha Vaasal or Sorga Vaasal on top of which is an Idol of Sri Pallikonda Ranganathar. There are Images of two Dwara Baalakas who stand guard before this Paramapadha Vaasal. Next to this is a wood work in which they have designed epic scenes from Ramayana and this has been neatly enclosed in a glass panel. There is a South facing Sub Shrine of Swamy Iyyappan and next to this is the Navagraha Sannadhi. The entire flooring of this Temple is neatly tiled and all the pillars contains Idols of the Dasavatharam and the Ashtalakshmis. The speciality of this Temple is that the ceiling of every Sub Shrine is painted with the same Deity that is found within the Sub Shrine. A huge coloured Image of Sri Santhana Gopalan is drawn on the ceiling close to the Dwajasthambam. The Temple has a Madapalli and Prasadam is distributed to all Devotees visiting this Temple. The Temple has been in a cramped locality and hence vehicular parking seems to be an uphill task for the Devotees. There are ample flower shops around the Rajagopuram and a free Chappal Stand functions close to the Temple for the sake of the Devotees. Vaikunda Ekadesi, Chitthirai Brahmmaothsavam, Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi are some of the festivals celebrated in a grand manner.
