Sri Magudeshwarar Temple is located in Kodumudi. It is actually a twin Temple and found along with Sri Veera Narayana Perumal Temple. There are separate entrances and Rajagopurams but at the same time both theseTemples could be visited from within too. This is an East facing Temple and there is a tall Dwajasthamabam or Kodimaram found along with a Neivedhya Peedam. To the rear of this is an Idol of Suryan and Chandran which are West facing. The ceiling near the Dwajasthambam looks so eye appealing and 12 Raasis are exquisitely etched on top of it. To the right rear of the Dwajasthamabam is the Navagraha Sannadhi. Overlooking the Moolasthanam is a Nandhi Vaahanam. On either side of the main entrance are two Idols of Ganapathy and Subramaniyar. Just before the Moolasthanam is the coloured Idol which depicts the marriage of Lord Shiva with Parvathy. At the threshold of the Moolasthanam are two huge black Idols of the Dwara Baalakaas. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Magudeswarar who is also known as Kodumudinathar is seen East facing in the form of a Shiva Lingam. The important aspect here that has to be noted is that the Shiva Lingam is Swayambhu in nature. It is one of the 276 Thevara Paadal Petra Sthalam. Appar, Sundarar and Thirugnana Sammandhar had sung in praise of this Temple. Sage Agasthiyar is believed to have visited this place and it is said that he had left his indelible finger prints at a few places in this Temple. The Idols of 63 Naayanmaars, Arunagirinathar, Kaveri Kanda Vinayagar, Somaskandar, Agastheeswarar, Mahalakshmi and Arumugam are found in the inner peripheral of the Temple. Around the Koshtam the Idols of Narthana Vinayagar, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar are found. A Sub Shrine for Lord Natarajar is seen here. The Consort of Magudeshwarar is known as Vadivudainayagi or Soundaryanayagi and She is found in a East facing standing posture in a multi pillared Mandapam. Though there is no Dwajasthambam or Kodimaram, a Nandhi Vaahanam and a Neivedhya Peedam is found facing Her Shrine. The Urchavamoorthy Idols are found in an exclusive enclosure. In the inner peripheral of the Ambal's Shrine the following Idols are seen viz. Vallaba Ganapathy, Choleeswarar, Vishveshwarar, Viswanathar, Visalakshi, Saraswathi, Sapthamathas and Chandikeshwari. There is an exclusive Shrine for Lord Brahmma. This Shrine is kept on an elevated podium beneath the Sthala Viruksham. Since Perumal, Easwaran and Brahmma are found together within the Temple premises it is known as a Thirimoorthy or Mummoorthy Sthalam. This Temple has Wheel Chair facilities for the sick, elderly and disabled. The Temple has its own Madapalli and there is an exclusive Annadhanakoodam for the sake of the Devotees.
