The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Methaleeswarar and He is considered to be an incarnation of  Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Abhayambikai Ambal. This Temple is located very close to Kundrathur Murugan Temple and the Kundrathur Taluk Office. . This Temple has a  five tiered Rajagopuram and it is decorated using 7 Kalasam. Like  Other Temple, this Temple also has a Dwajastambam. Both the Presiding Deity and His Consort have  Separate Shrine. This place is well connected and Bus facility is available from all parts of Chennai City. This Temple has a huge Kubera  Ganapathy Mandapam. There are Sub Shrines for Lord Vinayaka, Navagraha and Murugan, Venugopalar, Anjaneyar, Naga Devathais, Gaja Lakshmi Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshnamoorthy, Brahmma, Maha Vishnu, Durgai, Chandikeshwarar and Kaala Bhairavar.  Festivals like  Prodosham, Mahashivarathri, Vinayakar Chaturithi, Thirukarthikai are  celebrated in a grand Manner here. There is a silent tug of war between the Temple Gurukkal Raghu and his Mother on one side and the Temple Trustees on the other side. The Gurukkal and his Mother openly discourage Devotees not to fund the Temple Trust directly in any manner and to route all the cash only through them which does not go well with the Devotees. The reason they attribute is that the Temple is already making a lot of Money by letting out the Temple for TV shooting. The Trust and the Trustees have to settle this issue so that it  does not  take any serious turn and dips the image of the Temple before the local Devotees.
