Shree Mangalnath Temple is also known as Shri Mangalnath Mandir and it is located in the heart of Ujjain City. This Temple has been built on the Banks of River Kshipra. The Temple has an East facing Welcome Arch. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is known as Shree Mangalnath who is none other than God Shiva and His Consort is Goddess Parvathy. It is said that this Temple is located on the Tropic of Cancer and it is dedicated to the Mars. According to the Matsya Purana this is the actual Birth place of the Planet Mars. Hence this Temple Premises is used by a selected few for Astronomical Studies. 

The Temple is divided into two floors. The first floor is extensively used for Poojas and offering Pariharaa Poojas. The actual Temple is built on the second floor and Devotees visiting Shree Mangaleshwar Temple may have to climb a few steps to reach the level of the Temple premises located on the first  and second floors. At the outset there is an East facing Sub Shrine of Shri Ganapathy made out of a white marble stone, and He has to be Prayed first before the Devotees join the serpentine queue to have the Darshan of Shri Mangaleshwar. Meanwhile there is a South facing Sub Shrine of Shri Bhuvaneshwari Matha who is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Parvathy. A North facing Nandhi Bhagwan is seen facing Her Shrine. There is adequate place for the Devotees to circumambulate the Shrine of Shri Bhuvaneswari Matha.

The Presiding Deity of Shri Mangalnath is located in the second floor and is East facing. This East facing Sanctum Sanctorum is Airconditioned and Devotees can have a lovely Darshan of the Presiding Deity of Shree Mangalnath Swamy even from a distance. The Presiding Deity is seen in the form of an East facing Shiva Lingam with a metallic vessel known as Ushatharai dripping the Holy Water over the Shiva LIngam. A metallic Goat Vaahanam in a standing posture is seen West facing as though looking towards the Sanctum Sanctorum. A Sevvai Dosha Parihaaram can be done in the Moolasthan by paying Rs.350/-. Such Devotees can offer Curd and Cooked Rice to the God as an offering. To the rear of the Moolasthan is another East facing Sub Shrine of  Shri Pancha Parameshwar Mahadev who is seen in the form of a Shiva Lingam. Here too the Holy Water is seen dripping over the Shiva Lingam as droplets from a vessel known as Ushatharai.

This Temple has a South facing Sub Shrine of Shri Hanuman and a huge metallic Mace is kept close to His Idol. Standing close to Him are the South facing Images of Shri Ram, Goddess Seetha, Shri Lakshman and on the other side of Shri Hanuman is the South facing Image of Shri Dattatreya. The peripheral of the Temple has a Yaaga Kundam with a modern chimney over it. Close to this is a huge Trident rooted to the ground. The Temple's Pushkarani is River Kshipra. There is a Temple Office functioning within the Temple premises. Drinking Water facilities is available to the Devotees. The entire Temple complex, its walls, its flooring etc are red in colour. The Temple also has a huge Viruksham or Tree and there are a few green grass patches at a few places Vehicles can be parked on the busy road opposite to the Temple. Devotees can visit this Temple with Dhoti, Pant Shirt, Salwar Kameez with Shawl. The Temple draws enormous amount of Devotees from far and near on all Tuesdays.

This Temple is important for those with Marriage delays, Conflicts, Separation, Divorce etc. Such persons throng here to Offer Mangal Dosha Nivaran Pooja. This Temple is considered as a Sevvai Dosha Parihaara Sthalam.
