Sri Aiyarappar is in Thiruvaiyar is also known as Sri Dharmasamvarthini Samedha Sri Panchanatheeswarar or Sri Panjanadeeswarar Temple. This Temple is one of the 276 Thevara Paadal Petra Sthalam situated on the Northern Bank of River Cauvery. This place is called as Thiruvaiyaru since it is located in the confluence of five Rivers known as Arasalaru, Vennaru, Vettaaru, Kudamuruti and Cauveri (Kaveri). Visiting this Temple is considered on par with that of visiting the Shiva Temple in Varanasi or Kasi. Hence many Devotees refer this is as Dakshina Kailasam. The Temple has an East facing seven tiered Rajagopuram full of coloured Idols that makes it look impressive to the eyes of the onlookers. The base of the Rajagopuram has an East facing Idol of Sri Ganapathy. On entering the Temple premises the ambience is astounding and would keep any Devotees spellbound since the multiple pillars are fully painted with gorgeous colours. This huge multi pillared Mandpam is known as Sri Dhandapani Mandapam. A huge tinsheet roofing has been erected before this Dhandapani Mandapam and Divine Rituals and Temple Events could be conducted there with ease since there is ample space for the Devotees to sit and see the Events thus conducted. Heading towards the Moolasthanam is another huge multi pillared Mandapam. This Mandapam too has several paintings on its upper wall and they belong to those of Sri Chandikeshwarar, Sri Periyanayagi Ambal Samedha Sri Abathsagayeeswarar of Thirupazhanam, Sri Annapoorani Samedha Sri Odhavaneswara Swamy of Thirusotruthurai, Sri Mangayarkarasi Samedha Sri Vedapureeswarar of Thiruvedikudi, Sri Mangalanayagi Samedha Sri Brahmmasirakandeeswarar of Thirukandiyur, Sri Soundaranayagi Samedha Sri Pushpavaneswarar of Thirupanthuruthi, Sri Balambigai Samedha Sri Neiyaadiappar of Thiruneidhanam, Sri Sundarambikai Samedha Sri Vaidhyanatha Swamy of Thirumazhapadi and the Glass Palanquin of Sri Aiyarappar are all drawn in a row so that the Devotees could see and understand its importance. Then within a steel railing is a huge Idol of a West facing Nandhi Bhagwan who looks towards the Moolasthanam. The multi pillared Mandapam here is massive and almost all the pillars in it are intricately designed. The threshold of the Moolasthanam looks awesome and dazzling to the eyes of the Devotees since it is gold plated. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding of Sri Aiyarappar or Sri Aatkondar who is believed to be a Prithvi (Manal or Sand) Shiva Lingam or Swayambhu Shiva Lingam looks resplendent and is East facing in the form of a Shiva Lingam. It is also noteworthy to mention here that the Presiding Deity is offered only Nandhiyavattai Flower which is known as Pinwheel Flower or Crape Jasmine. Generally the Presiding Deity of Sri Aiyarappar doesn't accept any other Flower than the aforesaid one. Since the Abhishekam of the Presiding Deity, Sri Aiyarappar is performed with the Holy Water obtained from the five Rivers He is known as Sri Aiyarappar.

The Urchavamoorthy Idols of this Temple are all safely kept in a separate Sub Shrine meant for them. This Sub Shrine where the Urchavamoorthy Idols are kept is known as Somaskandar Mandapam. This Temple is unique since it is the only Temple of its kind to have 108 Vilva Maram along with 27 Nakshathra Maram on its Northern flank and is known as Vada Kailayam. This Temple is unique since it has a Vada Kailayam and a Then Kailayam. The Temple has its own Madapalli or Temple Kitchen and an Annadhana Koodam. The Ghoshala or the Pasu Madam is also well maintained. There is a general belief here that this Temple must never be circumambulated like other Temples. The reason for this is that it is widely believed that the Hair Lock or Jadaamudi of Sri Aiyarappar is spread for and wide, particularly on the posterior or rear side of the Temple. Hence it is siad that if the Devotees circumambulate the Temple they may stamp or place thier foot on the Jadamudi of the Presiding Deity inadvertently and hence circumambulation is not done by the Devotees. Thiruvaiyaru gains more prominence since it is believed that Thiruvaiyaru is the birth place of Sri Nandhi Bhagwan.

A Yaanai Kottadi or an Elephant Shed is also seen. The Temple's Office is located within the Temple premises. The Temple has a Battery run car for the sick and disabled. There is Wheel Chair facilities available in this Temple for the physically challenged. The Temple's Sthala Viruksham is a Vilva Maram while the Pushkarani or Sacred Tank is known as Surya Pushkarani. Pradosham, Saptha Satnam, Chitra Pournami, Aadi Pooram, Thiagaraja Aradanai, Shasti, Thiruvadhirai, Vinayagar Chathurthi, Vaikasi Brahmmothsavam are some of the festivals that are conducted with great fanfare.

This is not a Temple under the HR & CE of the Tamil Nadu Government but instead it is under the care of Thirukailaya Parambarai Dharma Adheena Trust.
