Sri Avinashilingeswarar Temple is also known as Sri Avinashi Appar Temple. The full name of the Temple is Sri Karunambikai Samedha Sri Avinashi Lingeshwarar Temple. Some refer this Temple as Sri Perumkarunai Nayagi Samedha Sri Avinashi Appar Temple. This Temple is located a few meters away from the arterial road. This is a huge East facing Temple of Sri Avinashi Lingeswarar Temple with a seven tiered Rajagopuram. There is a huge four pillared Mandapam in which a Deepasthambam is seen. At its base there is an East facing Vinayagar Idol and facing the Moolasthanam is a small East facing Nandhi Vaahanam and flanked by two Crocodiles.
Then there is a multi pillared East facing Gopuram and on top of it there are several coloured Divine Idols. To the left of this is a North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Veerabadrar. The 12 Jyothirlinga Paintings there which are a feast to the eyes of the Devotees. There is a Sub Shrine of Sri Selva Vinayagar who is North facing and a small Moonjur Vaahanam is seen facing Him. On either side of the Rajagopuram there are two Vinayagar Idols which are embossed to the walls and are East facing. There are two West facing Idol of Sri Chandran and Sri Maha Vishnu. There are West facing Sub Shrines for Siva Suryan and Sri Vinayagar.
Before the Neivedhya Peedam they have installed a small Idol of Sri Ganapathy who is East facing and He has a West facing Moonjur Vaahanam before Him. Then there is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a huge Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram which is gold plated. A Nandhi Vaahanam is seen here facing Westwards looking towards the Moolasthanam. There are two coloured Dwara Baalaka Idols on either side of the doorway and next to them are two more Dwara Baalaka paintings which are East facing. There is another lively coloured painting in which a Crocodile is seen with a opened mouth with a Human Kid in it. Facing the Crocodile with folded hands are Sri Sundaramurthy Naayanar and Sri Gangadhara Sharma with several followers. They seem to Pray to the Crocodile to revive and bring back to life the Kid that the Crocodile had swallowed several years before. This painting looks eye captivating when seen by the Devotees.
Leading to the Moolasthanam is a gold plated threshold before which is another West facing Nandhi Vaahanam. On either side of the threshold are two black East facing Dwara Baalaka Idols. To the left of the Moolasthanam is an Idol of Sri Vinayagar who is East facing. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Avinashi Lingeswarar is seen East facing and in the form of a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam. The Devotees viewing the Presiding Deity of Sri Avinashi Lingeshwarar are awestruck by seeing the Swayambhu Shiva Lingam along with the Naagabharanam. Around the Koshtam of the Moolavar are the Idols of Sri Dhakshinamoorthy, Sri Lingothbhavar, Sri Brahmma, Sri Durgai and Sri Chandikeshwarar.
Then is a North facing Idols of Sri Thirumuraikanda Vinayagar, 63 Naayanmaars, Sri Kasi Viswanathar is in the form of a Shiva Lingam, Sri Kasi Visalakshi, the Sapthamathas comprising of Sri Brahmmi, Sri Maheswari, Sri Koumari, Sri Vaishnavi, Sri Vaarahi, Sri Indrani, Sri Chamundi and Sri Veerabadrar. Then the following East facing Idols are seen: Sri Kanni Moola Vinayagar, Sri Sahasra Lingam, Sri Prithvi Lingam, Sri Appu Lingam, Sri Theyu Lingam, Sri Vayu Lingam, Sri Agaya Lingam, Sri Gajalakshmi and the solitary Idol of Sri Senthil Andavar who is seen in a standing posture. There is a Peacock or Mayil Vaahanam facing the Sub Shrine of Sri Senthil Andavar. The Temple has a huge Sabha Mandapam which consists of different paintings pertaining to various stories related to this Temple. These paintings are self expalnatory and are captivating to the eyes of the onlookers.
The Shrine of Sri Karunambikai or Sri Perumkarunai Nayagi is also East facing and it has a huge East facing five tiered Rajagopuram. The Ambal's Shrine can be reached from outside and also through the Moolvar's Sannadhi. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a Nandhi Vaahanam which is West facing and looking towards the Ambal's Shrine. There are two huge and black Dwara Baalaki Idols who stand guard on either side of the Moolasthanam and they are known as Dwara Sakthi's. To the left of the Moolasthanam of the Ambal's Shrine is an East facing Idol of Sri Ganapathy. In the East facing Shrine Sri Karunambikai or Sri Perumkarunai Nayagi is seen in a standing posture within a multi pillared Mandapam. The Ambal looks amazing in a Abhaya Hastha posture. The Koshtam of the Ambal's Sannadhi has the Idols of Sri Vinayagar, Sri Iccha Sakthi, Sri Gnana Sakthi, Sri Kiriya Sakthi, Sri Vishnu Durgai and Sri Chandikeshwari. There is also an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Niruthi Vinayagar and facing this Sub Shrine is a Moonjur Vaahanam. Between the Moolavar's Shrine and the Ambal's Shrine is an hexogonal Sub Shrine of Sri Subramaniyar who is seen East facing and in a standing posture. He is seen flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. The outer peripheral of the Temple has the Sub Shrine of Sri Bala Bhandayudhapani in which He is seen all alone and in a standing posture without His Consorts. Unusually there is no Neivedhya Peedam or Mayil Vaahanam.
The Temple has a corridor in which the Vaahanams of the Temple are safely kept. The Temple has a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Natarajar in a multi pillared Mandapam. Sri Natarajar is seen here along with His Consort Sri Sivagami Ambal. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi and close to it is a West facing Sub Shrine of Sri Saneeswara Bhagwan and facing Him is His Crow Vaahanam. There is a North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Anjaneya Swamy and on top of the Sub Shrine is a Gopuram in which the coloured Idols of Sri Rama, Goddess Seetha, Sri Lakshmana and Sri Hanuman are seen.
The Temple has a spiritual book stall, a Prasada Stall and Water facilities for the Devotees. Lactating Mothers can feed their babies in a Feeding Room meant for them. The Temple has a Kalaiarangam named after Sri Karunambikai. There is a stage and several Devotees can be seated in it while a Devotional functions are conducted. The Temple has a huge Temple Tank outside its premises. This Temple Tank has numerous names such as Kasi Kinaru Well, Naaga Kannikai Theertham and Iravadha Theertham and the Sthala Viruksham of the Temple is known as Pathiri Tree. There is also a Temple Office functioning here. Devotees can offer their Hair since Tonsuring is done here. The car parking located outside the Temple can easily hold around 50 to 60 vehicles with ease.
