Sri Konganagiri Murugan Temple is a well known Temple situated in Konganagiri in Tiruppur District. Devotees coming here by vehicles may have to wade through a few narrow streets before reaching the Temple. This is an East facing Temple with a five tiered Rajagopuram with lovely coloured Idols on it. Initially Devotees may have to climb 10 to 12 steps to reach the level of the Temple. Even the steps are designed captivatingly with two Elephant Idols on either side of it. There is a pair of huge wooden door leading the Devotees towards the Temple. 

To begin with there is a Deepastambam beneath a four pillared Mandapam and at the base of it there is an East facing Murugan and another Idol of Sri Vinayagar. To the left is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Ganapathy who is seen along with His Moonjur Vaahanam. The Gopuram too has a coloured Idol of Sri Ganapathy. To the right is a huge four pillared Mandapam with nothing in it. Devotees may have to yet again climb around 12 steps to reach the level of the Temple premises. There is a tall East facing Welcome Arch and on top of this is the coloured Idol of Sri Murugan who is flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena with two Peacocks on either side. Then is the Temple's main East facing multi pillared Mandapam. The Gopuram of this multi pillared Mandapam has a coloured Sri Murugan Idol at its centre and flanked by Valli and Devasena. On either side of this Gopuram are two solitary East facing Sri Murugan Idols. This Gopuram has a South facing Idol of Sri Dhakshinamoorthy on top of it. 

There is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam, a short Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a West facing Mayil or Peacock Vaahanam looking towards the Moolasthanam. This multi pillared Mandapam is fully painted in contrast colours. Even the ceiling has lovely coloured designs on it. Then is a gold plated threshold which accentuates the Moolasthanam. The gold plated threshold has two Divine Spears or Vel on either side with a Gajalakshmi perched on top of the threshold. On either side of this threshold are two Dwara Baalaka Idols namely Sumugan and Suganthan. In the East facing Santum Sanctorum Sri Konganagiri Murugan who is the Presiding Deity is seen along with His Consorts Valli and Devasena. This Konganangiri Murugan in the Sanctum Sanctorum is affectionately called as Sri Thapas Kumaraswamy since His Consorts are seen in a Thapas Kolam. Within the same Moolasthana Mandapam there is a North facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Arunagirinathar is seen. 

The outer peripheral walls have various Images depicting Sri Murugan and his life. There is an East facing Sub Shrine in the outer peripheral and it pertains to Sri Kanni Moola Selve Vinayagar. The rear side of the Temple's outer peripheral has its Sthala Viruksham, a Vakkina Maram and next to it are the Idols of Sapthakannigaigal or Sapthamathas. Then is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Venkatesa Perumal who is seen in a standing posture and facing this Sub Shrine is the Idol of Sri Garudalwar. One of the pillars of this particular Sub Shrine has an Idol of Sri Anjaneya Swamy embossed at its base. Devotees fond of Him offer a Vettrilai Malai to Him. 

The Navagraha Sannadhi is more consipicuous since all the Navagrahams are seen along with their respective Consorts. The Temple has a small fenced Nandhavanam or Temple Garden in which there is an Idol of Sri Ganapathy along with Raahu and Raahu. These Idols are beneath a Jack Fruit Tree which is considered auspicious. The Temple has a Madapalli or Temple KItchen and a huge Annadhana Koodam situated next to the Nandhavanam. The Nandhavanam of this Temple is officially called as Kandhavanam. There is a Temple Office functioning within its premises. The outer peripheral has a shuttered enclosure in which the Temple's Car or Chariot is safely kept. 

This Temple is supposed to be more than 1200 years old and is surrounded by lush green forestry which comprises mainly of Jack Fruit Trees or Palaa Maram. It is a habit here that those Devotees who come here are found to carry a stick made of this Palaa Maram and it is believed that it would bring good luck and prosperity in the house where it is treasured. This Temple is believed to have been built by Sri Kongana Siddhar who was one among the 18 famous Siddhars who existed during the ancient times. This Temple is considered as a Thevara Vaipu Sthalam. Saints Appar and Arunagirinathar have sung in praise of this Temple. Vaikasi Visakam, Panguni Uthiram, Shasti, Kiruthigai, Thai Poosam are some of the festivals that are celebrated in a grand manner. It is widely believed that a visit to this Temple in Konganagiri would get rid of all Marriage Obstacles, Sevvai Dosham and Graha Doshams.
