Sripuram area is in the outskirts of Vellore Town. Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple is built in the foothills of a hill known as Malaikodi or Thirumalaikodi within the Thirupuram Spiritual Park in a whopping land area of around 100 acres. The Golden Temple was built in a short span of just 7 years. It was inaugurated on 24th Aug-2007. The Presiding Deity of Sri Lakshmi Narayani who is also known as Sri Mahalakshmi is considered as the Goddess of Wealth. A Vellore based Charitable Trust known as Sri Narayani Peedam under the able guidance of its Chief Sri Sakthi Amma or Sri Narayani Amma was prime and instrumental in building this Temple and making it prosperous to this level. The Vimanam and most top layers of the Temple as pure Gold plated covering on top of Copper to make it firm and sturdy so that it lasts for a long time.
It is firmly belived that this Temple was built on a Star Shaped or Sri Chakkra formation and Devotees entering this Temple may have to walk around 1.8 Kms from the main entrance to reach the Main Temple to have the Dharshan of the Goddess. One fascinating feature of this Temple is that it is said to have been built according to the Ahamas and Vedas lending Modern Technology with the Old and Conservative Rituals that are rigidly followed. The Temple authorities are very liberal when it comes to offering Darshan. The Temple is open to Devotees from any religion to visit here and does not keep away anyone. There are different Sevas like the Kumkum Archana, Thulasi Archana, Swarna Pushpa Archana, Pushpa Alankara Seva, Abhishekam, Vastra seva, Gho Pooja, Annadhanam, Chandi Homam, Ganapathy Homam and various other Yaagams too.
The Temple has its own Room Booking facilities for its Devotees at a nominal fees. There is a Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Center inside this Temple complex which gives treatment to many people. Everyday thousands of Devotees visit this Temple from around the globe. Many villagers and locals earn their livelihood through this Temple and its sure to change their future in a very positive way.
