The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Kariya Manika Perumal who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Kanagavalli Thaayar. Though small this is one of the oldest Temple in Chennai. Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Kariyamanika Perumal can be seen along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Temple has a five tiered Rajagopuram. The Dwajasthambam an Idol of Garuda could be seen opposite the Main Shrine. Goddess Kanagavalli Thaayar is seen in a Sitting Posture in a separate Shrine meant for Her. There are Shrines for Andal and Hanuman too. Festivals like Vaikunta Ekadasi, Krishna Jayanthi, Hanumath Jayanthi, Sri Rama Navami, Navarathri, Brahmmothsavam, Pavithrotsavam, Garuda Seva, Ramanujar Thirunakshatram Day are celebrated with great fanfare during which time the Temple attracts lots of Devotees from all parts of Chennai and other places too.
