Sri Chandra Choodeshwarar Temple is located in Hosur and it is a hilltop Temple. There is a small Welcome Arch leading to the Ghat Road. Devotees can choose to go by footsteps or by vehicles too since there is a motorable ghat road with ample car parking space at top. At the outset this Temple has a West facing 7 tiered Rajagopuram. There are two pairs of Dwara Baalagaas beneath the Rajagopuram. To the left is a small Sub Shrine for Muthkalar and Ucchayinar. Beyond it is the Sub Shrine for Sri Kasi Viswanathar and facing this is a Nandhi Bhagwan. Beyond it is another 5 tiered multi coloured Rajagopuram which is South facing. Devotees are not allowed to enter the Temple through the South facing Rajagopuram but instead they are queued up and let in from the main gate located on the Eastern side. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam, Dwajasthambam or a Flag Staff and a Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam. The Presiding Deity is East facing and known as Sri Chandra Choodeswarar. He is in the form of a Shiva Lingam and an incarnation of God Shiva. He has a Pirai or Crescent on His forehead and hence known as Sri Chandra Choodeswarar. Goddess Maragadambigai is seen in another Shrine and She is East facing too. Around the Koshtam Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma, Sri Durgai, Chandikeshwarar and Sri Sivalakshmi. In the inner peripheral there are Sub Shrines for Yamadharman, 63 Nayanmaars, Somaskandar, Ganapathy, Varunan, Vayu, Agni, Saraswathy, Gajalakshmi, Valli Devasena Samedha Shanmugar, Sri Kuberar, Pancha Lingam, Kaala Bhairavar, Sri Veerabadrar, Iyangaran, Suryan, Chandiran and Sapthamaathas. There is a Navagraha enclosure and close to it is a Temple Well to fetch waters for performing the daily rituals. The Sthala Viruksham is a Vilva Tree and the Temple has a Pushkarani or a Temple Tank. There is a general belief that Devotees who offer Rock Salt and Pepper get rid of all their physical ailments. Since this Temple is situated on a hilltop and within Hosur it attracts aan enormous number of Devotees and tourists not only from Tamil Nadu but from the adjoining Karnataka too. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner.
