This Mosque is also known by the name Ahlebaite Shia Mohala.  This Mosque has been built in a sprawling area and has become a landmark for most Muslims here. On chosen Muslim festival days a huge congregation of Muslims converge here for mass prayers. This Mosque has  a Doom and several Towers and has a compound wall around it.  Outside the Mosque premises it's a shoppers delight with rows of shops spread everywhere since the Mosque is located in a busy stretch of road in the heart of Chennai city.  Inside the Mosque complex there is a huge Prayer Hall and the floor of this hall is covered using a beautiful carpet for people to kneel comfortably and offer Prayers or Namaaz.  The Mosque Administrative Officials are trying their level best to keep this entire Mosque complex spick and span. This Mosque complex is covered with tall trees and some parts of this Mosque has lawn covered with lush green grasses.
