This Hill Top Temple is one of the Aarupadai Veedu of Lord Murugan and this is the only Arupadai Veedu where Lord Murugan can be seen along with His Consorts. The Temple is believed to be more than 2000 years old. This Murugan is affectionately called Arulmigu Solaimalai Murugan by the Devotees. There is a Motorable Ghat Road leading to the Temple and the Temple Administration colloects a fee for letting in cars and other private vehicles. Devotees can opt a Government bus service too. It is an East facing Temple with a three tiered Rajagopuram. Initially it is said that this Temple had a solitary Spear and lateron Lord Murugan's Idol along with the Idol of Lord Ganapathy was added. There is a Huge Sacred Tank in this Temple called Noopura Ganga and Devotees visiting this Temple take a Holy Dip here and worship Rakkayi Amman before entering this Temple. Devotees ought to climb down five to six steps to reach the Temple premises. There are two Elephant Idols facing the Moolasthanam. On the right there is a Oonjal Mandapam with a Golden Swing and a Silver Swing which are safely secured and enclosed. On the way to the Moolasthanam there is a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maran, a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Peacock or Mayil Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam. The first Shrine is that of Vithaga Vinayagar who is seen in a seated posture facing East. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Murugan is flanked by His Consorts Valli and Devasena. In the third Shrine Aathi Vel is revered and Prayed. The entire inner peripheral of the Temple has multiple pillars and the ceiling too is beautifully designed and painted. There is a Vel or Spear flanked by two Peacocks in the inner peripheral. A Divine book shop too is available. There is an enclosure in the inner peripheral in which a Golden Chariot is safely enclosed. Devotees ought to pay Rs.2,000/- per head to earn rights to pull this Golden Chariot. A Seva counter, a Prasada Stall and a Thulabaaram are available in the inner peripheral. Next to the inner peripheral is a huge Hall or Mandapam with tiled flooring. The threshold leading to this Mandapam has inticately carved wood work of the Arupadai Veedu. There are three Urchavamoorthis who are seen East facing. In the first Shrine Arulmigu Vinayagar is seen. In the central Shrine Lord Murugan is flanked by Valli and Devasena. In the third Shrine Shanmugar is found having six faces and flanked by Valli and Devasena. A Yaaga Saalai exists opposite to this Hall. There is a Madapalli and the Temple has a huge Annadhana Koodam were several hundreds could be seated. The area between the Main Temple and the Annadhana Koodam is quite big with a cemented flooring and this could be used on festive occasions. Marriages are performed here on submitting the required documents. The Temple has Wheel Chair facilities for the sick and elderly. This Arupadai Veedu Temple has been kept meticulously clean and other Temples ought to take a leaf out of their book as this Temple stands as a shining example. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Naaval Maram and the Pushkarani or Theertham is Noopura Gangai Theertham. Some Devotees prefer walking along the Ghat Road to reach the Temple but there is a risk involved due to Monkey menace. Thai Poosam, Skanda Shasti, Vaikasi Visakam, Panguni Uthiram, Thiru Karthigai are some of the functions celebrated with great fan fare.
