Arulmigu Yoga Narasinga Perumal Temple is located in a place called Narasingam close to Otthakadai in Madurai outskirts. This Narasingam area was formerly known as Varanathri or Yaanai Malai. There is a Welcome Arch leading to this Temple. Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple is West facing with a three tiered Rajagopuram. The Temple has a compound wall and cars and other vehicles could be taken inside and parked. There is a four pillared Mandapam before the Rajagopuram and to its left is the Wedding Hall called Meenakshi Ambal Thirukann Mandapam. The Rajagopuram of Yoga Narasimha Swami Temple and the hillock which is to the rear of it presents an awesome sight to the eyes of the Devotees. On entering through the Rajagopuram there is a four pillared Mandapam and each of these pillars bear a Divine Image on it making it look eye appealing. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and beyond it are two huge coloured Iolds of Dwara Baalagas who stand guard here. Devotees cannot enter directly as this place has steel railings. Instead they have to circumambulate and climb a few steps and go towards the Moolasthanam. Facing the Sanctum Sanctorum is a Sub Shrine of Garudalwar. There is a huge multi pillared Mandapam with a golden threshold in which the Images of Dasavatharam are etched making it look conspicuous. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Narasinga Perumal is seen West facing in a sitting posture which is known as Yoga Posture. It is construed that Narasimha Swamy bears His Consort Mahalakshmi in his Bossom. It is believed that Yoga Narasimha Perumal bears the entire hillock or Yaanai Malai on Him. Since the West facing Sanctum Sanctorum of Sri Narasimha Perumal is built within a cave it is called as a Kudavarai Kovil and His Moolasthanam could not be circumambulated due to this. In the Maha Mandapam the Idols of Periyalwar, Nammalwar, Thirumangai Alwar, Manavala Maamunigal and Ramanujar or Udayavar are seen.

The Consort of Sri Yoga Narasinga Perumal is known here as Sri Narasingavalli Thaayar. Her Shrine is South facing in a sitting posture and looks glittering to the eyes of the Devotees. The threshold leading to Her Shrine is gold plated. The Gajalakshmi Idol installed atop Her Shrine is also gold plated. Infact the outer Gopuram of Her Shrine is gold plated too.

To the right of the Moolasthanam is a sprawling cemented area in which a stage with a Gopuram has been built. This Gopuram consists of several Divine Deities and Temple Rituals and other Divine fuctions could be held here since many Devotees could be seated here with ease. It is said that this belongs to the Sourashtra Brahmins Sangam. The Temple has several shops located to the anterior of the Temple and these shops sell all types of Pooja and Divine articles. At one end of the Temple is another four pillared Mandapam beyond which the Temple's Pushkarani or Sacred Tank could be seen. THe Pushkarani is known as Chakra Theertham. Since Sri Yoga Narasimha Swami Temple is located in Narasingam, on the outskirts of Madurai Devotees and Tourists who visit Madurai always make it a point to visit this Temple and seek the Blessings of Sri Yoga Narasimha Perumal. Narasimha Jayanthi is celebrated in a grand manner.
