Sri Aravindalocahanr Temple is one of the two Temples of Erattai Tirupathi. This is an East facing Temple with an Entrance Arch. There is a Dwajasthamabam or Kodi Maram, and a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam facing the Moolasthanam. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Aravindalochanar is seen East facing and in a sitting posture along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. They are together seen beneath the Aadhi Seshan. The Urchavamoorthy Idols are also seen within the Sanctum Sanctorum. The name of the Urchavamoorthy is Sri Senthamaraikannan. The Vimanam above the Moolasthanam is known as Kumudha Vimanam. There are no Idols around the Koshtam and the Thaayar who is known as Sri Karunthadakanni does not have a separate Shrine.

There are Sub Shrines for Sri Krishna, Sri Narasimhar and Sri Brahmma. The History behind the Temple is that Sage Suprabar had come to this place and went deep inside the pond on the Northern side to fetch the Lotus Flower for Sri Aravindalochana Perumal. Seeing and hearing the fragrance the Perumal Himself walks out of the Sanctum Sanctorum and approches Sage Suprabar and enquires about the Lotus Flowers and its fragrance. Since impressed, He requests Sage Suprabar to do Poojas for Him with these Lotus Flowers. 

This Temple is one of the Temples included in Nava Thirupathi of this region. It was built by the Pandya KIngs in a place called Irettai Thirupathi or Erattai Tirupathi where it is more of Forestry and less of human dwelling. Sage Nammalwar has sung 11 Pasurams / Verses in praise of this abode of Maha Vishnu. This Temple is very well maintained with the help of TVS Group of Companies.
