Thirumalai Vaiyavur or Malai Vaiyavoor is a small village off GST Road. This is a Hilltop Temple with an option for the Devotees to choose between footsteps and the ghat road leading to the Temple. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Alarmel Mangai Thaayar. There are Shrines for Varaha Perumal, Kannan and Ramar and Devotees ought to visit them first. There are separate Sub Shrines for Alarmel Mangai Thaayar and Andal. There are Sub Shrines for Ramanujar and Manavala Maamunigal. A new Shrine for Garudalwar is being built on the outside of the Temple opposite to the Sanctum Sanctorum. There is a Shrine for Sudharshana Perumal with Narasimhar located on the rear. This Temple is located on a small hillock. This Hill also has various names like Dakshina Thirupathi, Vaikundagiri, Dhakshina Garudagiri, Dhakshina Venkatagiri, Dhakshina Seshagiri, Varaaha Kshetram and Ramanuja Yogagiri. The Hill Temple has an exclusive Temple Kitchen or Madapalli too. This Temple was built by King Thondaimaan who also constructed The Tirupati Temple in Andhra Pradesh. About 500 years ago Vijayanagara King named Raja Thodarmaal gave his helping hand to develop this Temple and to perform Poojas, Festivals etc in a grand manner. Devotees can reach the Temple either by foot by climbing 500 steps or there is a motorable ghat road too to drive up the hill. This Temple has ample Car Parking and Devotees could drive up hill through a road whereas there is another road for vehicles coming down hill. There is a separate Shrine for Sri Hanuman at the foothill and He is called as Veera Narthana Anjaneyar and was erected in the 15th Century by Raja Thodarmal.
