Cheyyur is one of the Coastal place of Chenglepet District and it was formerly known in ancient days as Valavapuri. The pillars of the Temple are so well decorated and the sculptures of Yoga Narasimhar, Mariyamman and Lakshmi Narasimhar are displayed on it. Kanda Sasthi, Thai Poosam, Aadi Pooram are celebrated in a grand manner in this Temple and during that time there is a overwhelming number of Devotees.
