Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswami Temple is also called as Ugra Narasimhar Temple and is located in Singirikudi close to Abishekapakkam. It is situated in Cuddalore Taluk bordering Pondy. The Chola Kings and the Vijayanagara Kings have done a lot to promote this Temple. Though the actual year is unknown the Sanctum Sanctorum or Moolasthanam of this Temple is believed to have built in 16th Century. The Temple has a five tiered West facing Rajagopuram. On entering the Temple there is a huge Sacred Tank on the right side close to which is a earmarked space for lighting oil lamps. There is a Naga Devatha Sannadhi very near to the Sacred Tank or Pushkarani. On the left is a Sub Shrine for Durgai Amman and opposite to it is a Neem and Peepal Tree which are intertwined. Around these Trees is a cement podium with a steel railing. There is an Arch on top of which a Sangu, a Chakaram, Anjaneya Swamy and Garudalwar are mounted. Between them a Thengalai Thirumann and Sri Choornam could be seen. On either side of this are a pair of Dwara Baalakas. Facing this is a small Sub Shrine known as Sri Vikadan Sannadhi wherein a Ganapathy Idol is kept and Prayed. There is a Dwajasthamabam and two Bali Peedams which are all gold plated. On the left of the Maha Mandapam there are two Sub Shrines. The first Sub Shrine has an Idol for Sri Vishwaksenar and another for Sri Ananthar. The second Sub Shrine has four Idols of the Alwars and all these face Southwards. The Sub Shrine for Garudalwar is East facing and towards the Moolasthanam. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Ugra Narasimhar is seen in a sitting posture with weapons in most of His 16 hands. The Demon Hiranyakasibhu is seen placed on the lap of te Moolavar and He is on the verge of ripping and tearing the belly of the said Demon. Within the same Sanctum Sanctorum are the Idols of 1) Yoga Narasimhar and 2) Baala Narasimhar. This itself is unique since nowhere 3 Narasimha Swamy are seen together in the Moolasthanam of any other Temple. The Urchavamoorthy Vigraham of Prahaladha Varadhan flanked by Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi is also seen in the Moolasthanam. On the outer peripheral there is an exclusive East facing Shrine for Kanakavalli Thaayar. The Urchava Thaayar Idol is also kept there. Close to the Thaayar Sannadhi is a South facing Ramar Sannadhi in a gorgeously painted multi pillared Mandapam. Here Sri Rama, Goddess Seetha, Lakshmana and Hanuman could be found as Gold Plated Vigrahams. Beneath them is the Urchavamoorthy Vigraham. On top of the Ramar Sub Shrine they have placed Idols of Rama, Lakshmana, Seetha and Hanuman in multi colours. The Andal Sannadhi too is East facing and in a standing posture. Opposite to the Andal Sub Shrine is a Yaaga Saalai or a Yaaga Mandapam which is used to perform Yaagam, Homam and other Divine rituals. A Madapalli or a Temple Kitchen functions in the same Temple premises. This Temple is surrounded on all 3 sides by a lovely Temple Garden or Nandavanam which is lush green and well maintained. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is a Peepal Tree or Arasa Maram and the Pushkarani or Temple Tank is called as Jamadakani Theertham, Brihu Theertham, Indira Theertham, Vamana Theertham and Garuda Theertham. Opposite to this Temple is an exclusive Anjaneya Sannadhi and next to it the Temple authorities have kept the Temple Chariot or Temple Car which is found to be closed with tin sheets. The Temple has a Annadhana Koodam to offer Prasadam, Food etc to the Devotees. There are lots of petty shops selling flowers, garlands and other divine articles near the Temple. Devotees may not find a car parking and vehicles must be managed somewhere in the same street leading to the Temple. Swathi Nakshathram days, Narasimha Jayanthi, Vaikunda Ekadesi attracts an overwhelming number of Devotees from far and near. This Temple is considered as a Navagraha Dosha Parihaara Sthalam.
