Sri Ramar Temple, Vadalur, Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu

This Ramar Temple is located in a place called Maruthi Nagar in Vallalar Salai in a Vadalur residential locality. The Temple has a sliding grill gate and there is a Welcome Arch on top of which Lord Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy alond with a Sangu ad Chakaram could be seen as colourful Idols and this is West facing. On entering the Temple a rare Ramar image made of gold in Thanjavur painting is kept preserved safely. This was the first portrait of Lord Rama started 200 years ago. Initially the Image was kept and Prayed and it was started as a Madam. As years grew, the initially started Madam was rebuilt and promoted as a Ramar Temple as its stands now. This Temple of Lord Ramar was started around 60 years ago in Vadalur in a small manner. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Rama and He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Seetha, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy in the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Moolasthanam is East facing and the Deities other than Lord Anjaneyar are found in the standing posture. The black Vigraham of the Main Deities is a treat to watch. The Crawling Krishna and the Vennai Thaazhi Krishna Panchaloga Idols kept in the Moolasthanam are an added attraction. There is a Hanuman Vigraham facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. Close to this is a Bali Peedam and a Divine Ramar Paadam. The recently built multi coloured Panchamuga Anjaneyar Idol attracts a lot of attention since He stands tall with five faces. There is a small Vinayagar Vigraham just outside the Moolasthanam. There is a Yaaga Mandapam where Homam and other Divine rituals could be performed. Around this place there are Images of Krishna with Baama and Rukmani, Krishna with a flute, Srinivasa Perumal along with Padmavathy Thaayar, and Lord Natarajar. The multi coloured Gopuram above the Moolasthanam draws attention of all Devotees since the Idols of Dasavatharam has been nicely sculpted. This is a small Temple but the power of the Presiding Deity is sky high. Sri Rama Navami and Hanumath Jayanthi are celebrated in a grand manner. Thirumanjanam and Bhajans are conducted on  every Ekadesi day. On the outer peripheral there is a small Thulasi Maadam and a Temple Nandhavanam or Temple Garden is also being nurtured. This Rama Temple is gradually gaining popularity in this region. The Temple is being looked after on the Pooja side by Seshadri Bhattachariar.
