Sri Chamundeshwari Temple is a much revered Temple by the Hindus and it is located in the inner part of Guruvayur. This is a East facing Temple with a majestic and an appealing look. The Temple is built in a typical Kerala Style of Architecture and stands out for its wood work combined with the traditional beauty. At the outset there is a huge East facing multi pillared Mandapam and in each of the huge pillars different Idols of various Gods and Goddesses have been beautifully placed making it look so appealing to the eyes of the Devotees visiting here. The Shrine of Goddess Chamundeswari looks resplendent and elegant. Sri Chamundeswari, who is East facing is the Presiding Deity and She is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathy. She is adorned and decorated with all the offerings from Devotees. There are huge oil lamps lit before Her Shrine. In the adjoining Shrine is Sri Veerabadrar who is also East facing and He is considered as an incarnation of God Shiva. The Shrines of Goddess Chamundeswari and Sri Veerabadrar have gold plated steps and threshold along with the Dwara Baalagis and Dwara Baalagas respectively.

There is a Neivedhya Peedam or a Bali Peedam facing the Sri Veerabadrar Shrine and another facing the Shrine of Goddess Chamundeeswari. This Temple has a steady stream of Devotees who love to bask in the aura of the Goddess. There is a huge Tree or Viruksham on entering the Temple with a podium built around it. In the outer peripherals is a West facing Sub Shrine for Goddess Thazhathekkavu Bagawathy who is considered as the sister of the Presiding Deity Goddess Chamundeswari and She is kept beneath a huge Tree and Prayed. There are two enclosures in which the Brahmma Rakshasa and the Naga Devathas are found. Close to them there is a Sub Shrine for Swamy Iyyappan who is also found East facing.

Along the same outer peripheral is an enclosure for Goddess Durga. Next to it is another enclosure named as Moolasthanam and it is believed that during the initial stages of this Temple Goddess Chamundeswari was kept here and prayed. Next to it there are Sub Shrines for Sri Vishnumaya and Sri Upasanamoorthy which are also East facing. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi made out of black stones and it is a feast to the eyes of the Devotees. The Temple has a Madapalli and a separate enclosure earmarked for Annadhanam. The Temple has an exclusive seva counter for various kind of offerings. Devotees who wish to donate liberally are advised to contact the phone numbers mentioned hereunder.
