Arulmigu Thiru Aappudaiyar Temple is also known as Sri Thiruvappanur Temple. There is an East facing Welcome Arch with an Idol of Somaskandar on it. Beyond the Welcome Arch is an East facing Gopuram with Idols of Shiva, Parvathy, Ganapathy and Murugan on it. On entering the Temple through the Gopuram Images of Maha Sadasivamurthy and Aishwareshwarar are drawn on the walls. This Temple contains several huge multi pillared Mandapam and each of these pillars are embossed with designs and Divine Idols on them. One of such Idols embossed on the base of a pillar is that of Anjaneya Swamy and He is much sought after. There is a tall Dwajasthambam projecting itself through the roof of the Mandapam, a Neivedhya Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam mounted on an elevated podium facing the Moolasthanam. Devotees may have to climb 4 or 5 steps to reach the Moolasthanam and there is an exit point where Devotees may have to climb down 4 to 5 steps. There is an Idol of Anukyai Vinayagar and Valli Devasena Samedha Murugan at the entry and exit points respectively. Before the Moolasthanam there are two huge Dwara Baalaga Idols seen East facing and standing guard here. Next to these two Dwara Baalaga Idols is an Idol of Vinayagar and Murugan. In the Moolasthanam Sri Thiruvappudaiyar is seen East facing and in the form of a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam. The Presiding Deity of Thiruvappudaiyar is also affectionately known as Idaipureesar, Anna Vinodhan or Appanur Nathar. Close to the Moolasthanam is an Idol of a Natarajar along with Goddess Sivagami which is eye captivating. Around the Koshtam the Idols of Dhakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhavar, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar are seen. Opposite to the Lingothbhavar idol of the Koshtam there is an Idol of Bikshadanar. In the inner peripheral there is a North facing Naalvar Sannadhi consisting of Sundarar, Thirugnana Sammandhar, Appar and Manikavasagar. In the multi pillared corridors of the outer peripheral there are Idols of Prithivi Lingam, Theyu Lingam, Vaayu Lingam, Agaya Lingam and Agni Lingam. There is an East facing Sannadhi for Valli Devasena Samedha Subramaniyar and another East facing Sannadhi for Aadhi Parasakthi.

The Ambal's Shrine of this Temple is built in a huge East facing multi pillared Mandapam with a Vinayagar and Murugan Idol standing guard on either side. Apart from them there are two Dwara Baalaki Idols on either side of the Shrine. There is a Dwajasthambam, a Neivedhya Peedam and a Nandhi Vaahanam mounted on a podium facing the Ambal's Shrine. The name of the Ambal is known as Sugantha Kundhalambigai and She is found in a East facing standing posture. Between the Shrines of the Thiruvappudaiyar and Ambal is a Viruksham known as Kondrai Maram. Beneath this Kondrai Maram is a Vinayagar Idol along with the Idols of Naga Devathas.

In the outer peripheral there is a Natarajar Sannadhi and before this Shrine are four huge pillars forming a Mandapam and on each of these pillars different Idols are sculpted which makes it look eye appealing to those who see it. Close to this is a Navagraha Sannadhi. There are West facing Sub Shrines for Sri Kailasanathar, Bhairavar and Sri Murugan. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Kondrai Maram and the Theertham or Pushkarani is known as Vaigai and Idabhapura Theertham. The Temple has a Temple Kitchen or Madapalli and an Annadhana Koodam. Festivals like Masi Brahmmothsavam, Navarathri, Aani Uthiram, Adi Pooram, Aippasi Pournami, Thiru Karthikai, Margazhi Thiruvadhirai, Panguni Uthiram, Vinayakar Chaturithi, Pradosham, Maha Shivarathiri are celebrated in a grand manner. It is generally believed that those Devotees who are below poverty line are Blessed by His Almighty here and sooner than later the financial position of such Devotees would improve by leaps and bounds. Devotees with Sevvai Dosham visit this Temple to get rid of it and hence it is considered as Sevvai Dosha Parihaara Sthalam.
