Selaiyur is close to Tambaram IAF in South Chennai. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Swaminatha Swami who is an incarnation of Sri Murugan. This Temple was consecrated by the great Saint Swami Santhananda on 24th June 1999. He was the one who was responsible for building Om Sri Skandasramam in Salem. This Temple has life size Idols of various Gods and Goddesses. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the 12 feet Presiding Deity of Sri Swaminatha Swami or Sri Murugan is seen with His Vaahanam Peacock. There is a Sahasralingam  which is made out of a huge stone and it is 9.5 feet tall and weighs upto 20 tonnes. There is a huge Nandhi and it is 5 feet long and 4 feet tall. There are Sub Shrines for Sri Panchamukha Heramba Ganapathy, Sri Kamalasiddhi Vinayakar, Sri Bhuvaneshwari Amman, Sri Panchamukha Aanjaneyar, Sri Veera Sarabeswarar, Sri Saneeswarar, Sri Swaminathaswamy, Sri Dattatreyar, Sri Prathyankara Devi, Sri Chakra Maha Meru, Sri Swamy Ayyappan, Sri Ashtabhuja Durga Parameswari, Sri Sudarshana Chakrathazhwar and Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar. Festivals like Skanda Shasti, Thai Poosam, Shivarathri, Vinayagar Chathurthi, Hanumath Jayanthi etc are celebrated in a grand manner.
