Chitlapakkam is a place located close to Chromepet in Chennai. This Temple which is located in Jothi Nagar, Chitlapakkam, Chennai - 64 is very unique since Saivism & Vainavism are found in the same Temple and hence the name Sri Anandha Jothi Vinayagar & Srinivasa Perumal Temple.  It is located on the first main road midway between MIT Flyover and Chitlapakkam Police Station.  It was first started around 65 years ago with the Idol of Sri Anandha Jyothi Vinayagar.  During that time Messrs. Narasimhan, Janardhanan along with few others started this Temple in a small way and in the subsequent years several sub Shrines were added to it.  In 2007 the Idol of Srinivasa Perumal was added and the Temple got its small compond wall fitted with grill gates. On entering the Temple Srinivasa Perumal is found on the left side in His Shrine whereas Sri Anandha Jyothi Vinagar is found on the right side. The frontage of the Temple is neatly covered with sheets.  Later an Idol of Goddess Vekkali Amman was installed at the rear of the Temple.  There is a Arasa Maram or a Peepal Tree and a Neem Tree beneath which several stone Idols of Naga Devathas have been kept.   There is a Lotus shaped Navagraha Sannadhi.  There are Sub Shrines for Baktha Anjaneyar, Nagarajar, Garudan, Vinayagar, Kasi Vishvanathar, Kasi Visalakshi,  Lakshmi Narasimhar, Goddess Padmavathy, Lingothbhavar, Vishnu Durgai,  Sudharshanar and Yoga Narasimhar.  Dhanvanthri, Kaala Bhairavar and Lakshmi Hayagreevar who have separate Sub Shrines draw the attraction of all local Devotees on auspicious days.  There is a Temple Madapalli or Kitchen and a Temple Office.
