Thiruneermalai is a small and secluded place close to Anakaputhur in Chennai outskirts. There are two main Temples in Thiruneermalai, one at the foot hill and the other atop the Hill. The Temple at the foot hill is dedicated Sri Neervanna Perumal. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Animaa Malar Mangai Thaayar. Sri Neer Vanna Perumal can be found in a standing posture. There are Sub Shrines for Sri Kalyana Ramar and Saint Aandal. While travelling up the hill Devotees can find the Sub Shrine of Sri Hanuman. The Presiding Deity at the hill top Temple is none other than Sri Ranganathar. He can be seen in a Pallikonda or reclined state. He blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Ranganayaki Thaayar. Apart from Sri Ranganathar there are Sub Shrines for Sri Trivikrama Perumal and Sri Narasimhar and both of them are seen in walking and sitting postures respectively. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Garuda instead of Sri Hanuman before Sri Ranganathar and this makes it quite unique. This Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desam of Maha Vishnu. There are four Sacred Tanks namely Karunya Pushkarani, Swarna Pushkarani, Siddha Pushkarani and Ksheera Pushkarani.
