This Temple is one of the Shiva Vishnu Sthalam. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Panchanadeshwarar who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Dharma Sambartini Ambika. Devotees visit this Temple for a successful Wedding and Puthira Bakkiyam thereafter. Maha Kumbabhishekam was performed in the years 1925, 1957, 1985 respectively. It is believed that Lord Shiva controlled all five elements or Pancha Boodham here and hence the name Panchanadeeshwarar. This place was initially called as Panjaratchapuram. It is believed that Subramaniya Swamigal worked hard in renovating this Temple. During Panguni Tamil Month we can see the Sun Rays falling on the Presiding Deity through the Gap between the Horns of the Nandhi at 6 PM. Tamil New Year, Vaikasi Visakam, Aaipasi Annaabhishekam, Karthigai Dheepam, Pradosham and Arudhura Dharisanam is celebrated in a grand manner.
