The Preisiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Vanmeeganathar and He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with his Consort Goddess Kamalambikai. This Temple is built on a whopping 30 acrs of land and considered to be one of the largest Temple in India. This beautiful Temple has 9 Gopuram and the main goipiuiram facing east is 98 feet tall. It is believed that this Temple was built by Chola Kings in the 9th century. This Temple is also considered as a Thevaram Padal Petra Sthalam that is Dedicated to Lord Shiva. Chariot festival is celebrated in a grand manner.
