Lalithambigai or  Meghanathar Temple is located in Thirumeeyachur, Tiruvarur District.  The Presiding Deity of this Temple is called by 3 names 1) Meghanathaswami, 2) Mahira Aruneswarar and 3)Muyarchi Nathar and they are considered to be an incarantion of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consorts Goddess Lalithambikai or Soundarya Nayaki. This Temple is considered to be of the the 276 Padal Petra Sthalam that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and 56th Temple on the Southern Banks of River Kaveri. The Presiding Deity is a Self Manifested Swayambu Lingam and His Consort Lalithambigai can be seen seated on a Sri Chakara Raja Simhasanam. Though The Presiding Deity is Lord Shiva His Consort Lalithambikai has more Power here. The Sunrays falls of the Presiding Deity of 21 to 27 of Chitirai Month. Most Devotees celebrate their 60 th and 80 th Birthday here in this Temple. Rathasapthami, Durga Pooja, Maha Shivarathri, Prodosham, Makara Sankaranthi are celebrated in a grand manner here in this Temple.   There are several shops situated near the entry point of the Temple and a Temple Tank known as Surya Pushkarani is also located closeby.
