Koradacheri is a Panchayat Town located between River Vettaar and River Vennaru in Thiruvarur. The full name of this Temple Sri Dharmasamvarthini Samedha Sri Panchanadheshwarar Temple. In ancient times Blind or Kurudu in Tamil People used to come here and Pray and it was known as Kurudancheri. This name is now known as Koradacheri. Though the exact origin of this Temple is unknown it is believed that it is more then 1500 years old and it is said that Saint Thirugnana Sammandhar to offer Prayers. The Sanctum Sanctorum of this Temple is West facing and Sri Panchanadeshwarar who is the Presiding Deity of this Temple is seen West facing and in the form of a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam and He is considered as an incarnation of God Shiva. It is very unique that the Sun Rays passes through the two Horns of the Nandhi and falls on the West facing Shiva Lingam around 6 PM for seven continuous days between the 7th and 13th of Tamil Month of Panguni. It is now evident from the name of the Pushkarani which is called Surya Pushkarani and the Sun Rays falling on the Shiva Lingam that there is a strong connection between this Temple and the Sun God Surya Bhagwan.
The Urchavamoorthy Idol of Sri Panjanadheshwarar made of Panchalogam is also kept within the Moolasthanam. The Consort of the Temple is known as Sri Dharmasamvarthini Ambal and She is seen in a standing posture in Her South facing Shrine. There is a Shrine for Maha Vishnu and hence Devotees consider this Temple as a Shiva Vishnu Temple. Sri Maha Vishnu is seen with His Consort Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi and facing the Shrine of Sri Maha Vishnu is a Sub Shrine of Garudalwar. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Hanuman and He is known as Aabatsagaya Anjaneya Swamy.
It is one of the rare Temples with four Sthala Virukshams which are as follows: Vilvam, Parijatham, Arasu and Thulasi. The Sacred Tank or Pushkarani is known as Surya Theertham and a dip in this Pushkarani is considered very Sacred. Tamil New Year, Vaikasi Visakam, Aaipasi Annaabhishekam, Karthigai Deepam, Pradosham and Arudhura Dharisanam are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is considered as a Puthira Baakkiya Sthalam and hence issuesless couple keep visiting here often.
