The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Ayyappan. This is the First Ayyappan Temple in entire Chennai City. This Temple was built in order to perform the initial rituals before Ayyppan Devotees going to Sabaramalai. On 26 January 1970 the first Sthala Sudhi Pooja was performed by the Thanthri from Chittanikara Temple. Inially Bajans and Poojas was performed in a small room. which attrated 40 to 50 Ayyappan Devotees every Saturday evening. Due the increas in Devotees evantually a New bigger Temple complex was planned in the on February 1970. Sri Kanippayyoor Sankaran Namboodiri prepared the blue prints for constructing ths Temple. Later Granites was used to built this Temple and this granite was brought from Pattumalaikuppam. Later Sri K.k Nanu bought the Idol of Panchaloga Idol of Lord Iyyappan and installed here in this Temple on March 25th 1974 and the Maha Kumbabhishekam was performed on March 28th 1974. This Temple has Sub Shrines for many Deities like Lord Vinayakar, Lord Subraminiyar can be seen along with His Consorts Valli and Devanai. The Poojas are Daily Rituals are performed by following the Kerala Style of Architecture.
