The story behind the Temple can be elucidated as follows: Initially there was a Sri Ramar Temple here. In one of the dreams of a Devotee Perumal had appeared and had asked him to construct a Temple and at the same time the Idol of Sri Narasimhar was excavated from the Mother Earth while digging. Soon the Moolavar was renamed as Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal. In the Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Prasanna Venkata Perumal is seen East facing and in a standing posture with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi flanking Him on either side. Beneath Him the Idol of Sri Narasimhar too is seen East facing.

The outer peripheral has the Shrine of the Thaayar who is known as Sri Alarmelmangai Thaayar. The Shrine of this Thaayar is East facing in a multi pillared Mandapam and Devotees may have to climb a few steps to reach. Sri Alarmelmangai Thaayar is seen in sitting posture Blessing Her Devotees and the Urchavamoorthy Idol of the Thaayar is seen within the same Shrine. There is room for the Devotees to circumambulate the Shrine of the Thaayar. Close to the Shrine of Thaayar is a North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Chakkarathalwar and to the rear of this is an South facing Yoga Narasimhar. There is an East facing Sub Shrine of Andal in the outer peripheral and Sri Andal is seen in a standing posture within Her multi pillared Mandapam.

There is a West facing Yaaga Saalai and close to it is a Sorga Vaasal or Paramapatha Vaasal. The Temple has a huge Alankara Mandapam which is South facing and opposite to this is a four pillared Mnadapam used for Divine purposes. The Temple has a Madapalli for Ritual puurposes. The Temple has a well maintained Ghoshala. There is a Nandavanam outside the Rajagopuram in which an Idol of Sri Navaneetha Krishnan could be seen. Another similar Nandhavanam is also seen and this is known as Sri Ramanujar Nandhavanam and a West facing Idol of Sri Ramanujar is kept there. Between these two Nandhavanam is a four pillared Mandapam and the Temple authorities have stacked the Temple Vahanams in a temporary enclosure. Close to this is a Temple Chariot which is kept in the open. The Temple is run and maintained by a Private Trust comprising of Balija Chettiyars. There is No Hundi kept anywhere in the Temple and they do not charge or demand money for Archanai. This Temple is meticulous and clean.
