Eachanari is a suburb of Coimbatore City. Sri Vinayagar is revered as the first and foremost God for all Hindus. Eachanari is located a few Kilometers away from Coimbatore City. It is located diagonally opposite to Sri Mahalakshmi Temple in Eachanari. Actually this Temple Deity of Sri Ganapathy was meant for Perur Patteeswaran Temple. While being transported in those days by a cart, the cart broke down and the task of removing this Deity to Perur became most cumbersome. Hence they installed the Presiding Deity of Sri Vinayagar in Eachanari itself and built a Temple. This is an East facing Temple with a three tiered Rajagopuram.

Within a few years Eachanari Vinayagar Temple's fame spread far and wide and Devotees from all places started congregating here. The Presiding Deity of Sri Vinayagar is around 6 feet tall. He is made out of a black Vigraham and looks so resplendent to the eyes of the Devotees seeing Him. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum the Presiding Deity of Sri Eachanari Vinayagar is seen in a seated posture Blessing His Devotees. The Silver threshold before His Sanctum Sanctorum makes the black Vigraham of Sri Eachanari Vinayagar look even more splendiferous to the eyes of the Devotees. The Urchavamoorthy Idol too is seen within the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Moolasthanam could be circumambulated by the Devotees. The walls of the peripheral have lots of portraits about the life history of Sri Vinayagar.

There is a huge Peepal Tree or Arasa Maram beneath which an East facing Idol of Sri Vinayagar is seen along with a few other Naaga Devatha Idols. The Temple has its own Temple Kitchen or Madpalli and Prasadam are distributed throughout the day to all Devotees. The huge Annadhana Koodam is used for serving meals to several hundreds of Devotees. The Temple Garden or Nandhavanam is well maintained and looks clean. There is a huge multi pillared hall close to the Annadhana Koodam and Divine functions could be performed here with effortless ease. This Temple has a Temple Library and a Spiritual Book Stall. Flower Shops selling Fruits, Flowers and Garlands are seen outside the Temple premises.

A Yaaga Saalai is seen and Homam or Yaagam are done here regualarly. The feature of this Temple is the Ganapathy Homam done at the time of the opening of the Temple every morning. This Temple has an exclusive Temple Chariot which is known as Thanga Ther and it is drawn around the Temple every evening during dusk roughly by 7 PM. Since the Temple is located on the main road Devotees may have to be careful in parking their vehicles safely. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Skandahara Chathurthi are celebrated here in a grand manner with great fanfare.
