This Temple is located in Puliyakulam, Coimbatore - 45. It is an East facing Temple located in a Tri Junction on the main road. This Temple does not have a conventional Rajagopuram or a Dwajasthambam. There are two ways to enter the Temple premises. There is a small East facing entrance through which the Temple can be accessed. Otherwise Devotees may have to climb five to six steps to reach the Moolasthana Mandapam. There is a Neivedhya Peedam or Bali Peedam and a Moonjur Vaahanam looking West towards the Moolasthanam.

The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Mundhi Vinayakar who is an incarnation of Sri Ganesh. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is sculpted out of a single black stone and is considered as the largest Vinayagar Idol in entire Asia. The stone from which the Presiding Deity was sculpted was brought from Oothukuli and the Deity was sculpted in Puliyakulam where the Temple stands now. It is said that nearly 21 Sculptors were engaged for making the Presiding Deity of this Temple. The sculpting work was started in the year 1982 and was completed in 1998. The Temple's Presiding was installed and Consecration was done under the care of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal.

This 19 feet 10 inches tall and 11 feet 10 inches wide Main Idol of Vinayagar weighs nearly 190 tonnes and looks amazing to the eyes of the Devotees. It is not an easy task for the Archakas to decorate the Presiding Deity of Sri Mundhi Vinayakar due to the immense size of the Deity. The Presiding Deity is made of a black stone and is East facing. The base of this is etched with a Moonjur Vaahanam. To facilitate this there are two ladders erected on either side of the Idol of Sri Mundhi Vinayagar. The forehead of this Sri Vinayaka itself is 2.5 feet wide and his Trunk is in a shape called Valanchuzhi. Here Sri Vinayaka has four hands and each hand consists of an Ivory (which was used to write great Epic Mahabaratha), Angusam, Jack Fruit and a Whip. Vasuki Serpent can be seen around His Hip. There is a nectar pot called as Amruth Kalasa on His Trunk and a Lotus decorates the left foot of Sri Vinayaka. The upper walls of the Moolasthana Mandapam has lovely paintings of Sri Lakshmi, Sri Saraswathi, Sri Krishna, Sri Murugan and Sri Vinayagar etc. The rear of the Temple appears to have been built on a circular podium. Most places are covered by temporary tin sheet roofing.

Parellel to the Main Deity is a Sub Shrine of Sri Aadhi Vinayagar whose Idol is considered to be here for the past several decades. The Idol of Sri Adhi Vinayakar is seen beneath a Peepal Tree and is seen East facing. A West facing Moonjur Vaahanam is seen here. He is flanked on either side by Sri Raahu and Sri Kethu who are also considered of prime importance. Devotees can circumambulate this place. Three more Naaga Devatha Idols are also seen to the rear of the Peepal Tree.

Devotees visit this Temple before starting  their childs education. Devotees also believe that visiting this Temple will remove all the ill effects of all the Planets instead of visiting many other Parihaara Sthalam. Devotees pay their respect to Sri Vinayaka by lighting Lamps and by performing Abhishekam. Since this Temple stands on the main road in a triangular junction of Puliyakulam vehicular parking is cumbersome. It is siad that this Temple is much sought after for all types of Vaahana Poojai. Festivals like Sankatahara Chaturthi, Vinayakar Chathurthi and Navarathri are celebrated in a grand manner.
