Karamadai Sri Ranaganathaswamy Temple is situated in a place called Karamadai in Mettupalayam Taluk of Coimbatore District. The Temple has a West facing Welcome Arch on the Road leading the Devotees to the Temple. Karamadai Sri Ranganathar is an East facing Temple. At the outset there is an East facing Gopuram along with a multi pillared Mandapam. The East facing Gopuram has a coloured Idol of Sri Pallikonda Ranganathar who is seen in a reclining posture along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. Flanking them are the Idols of Sri Garudalwar and Sri Anjaneya Swamy. Along with Him there are few other Divine coloured Idols too in this East facing Gopuram.

On entering the multi pillared Mandapam there is a North facing Sub Shrine in which a few Portraits of Gods and Goddesses are displayed. There is a South facing stage which is almost empty for now. Then is a four pillared Mandapam in which a Deepasthambam is seen. This stone Deepasthambam has a West facing Anjaneyar Idol embossed on its base. Then is an eight pillared East facing Mandapam beyond which is the Rajagopuram. This Temple has an East facing seven tiered Rajagopuram. Devotees may have to climb down seven to eight steps after the Rajagopuram and on either side of the steps are two Elephant Idols. 

Then is a four pillared Mandapam with a pair of Divine Feet or Vishnu Paadham. Next to this is a tall gold plated Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram. A West facing Sri Garudalwar Idol is seen next looking towards the Moolasthanam and beyond it is a small Neivedhya Peeedam or Bali Peedam. To the left of these is a North facing multi pillared Mandapam with a coloured Gopuram. This Gopuram is beautifully designed with the coloured Idols of Dasavatharam. The multiple pillars of this Mandapam are also intricately carved and painted. There is a Temple Seva Counter here offering tickets to the Devotees for various Sevas. LIkewise there is a paid Darshan system here along with the Free Darshan. There are iron railings leading the Devotees towards the Moolasthanam.

The threshold of the Moolasthana Mandapam itself is gold plated and looks glittering to the eyes of the Devotees. Atop is a Thirumann and Srichurnam with a Sangu and a Chakkaram flanking it. On either side of the entrance are the two Dwara Baalaka Idols who are East facing and in a standing posture. These two Dwara Baalaka Idols are known as Sri Jayan and Sri Vijayan. There are three layers of threshold and just before the Moolasthanam is another gold plated threshold and to the left is Sri Krishna with Sri Narasimhar to the right. Both their Images are etched on the gold plating making it look more glittering to the eyes of the Devotees. In the East facing Moolasthanam there are no artificial lights. Instead Sri Ranagantha Swamy is seen as a Swayambhumoorthy and is breast sized and East facing and can be seen in the dim lit glow of the oil lamps. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of the Presiding Deity is seen along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi in the same Moolasthanam. There is a South facing Sub Shrine in which the rest of the Urchavamoorthy Idols are clubbed together and kept. The Koshtam of the Moolasthanam has a South facing Idol of Sri Krishnar and North facing Idols of Sri Rama and Sri Andal Nachiyar.

The Consort here is known as Sri Ranganayaki Thaayar and She is seen in a Sub Shrine which is East facing in a multi pillared Mandapam. Her Shrine is seen with a gold plated threshold on which two Elephant Images are etched beautifully. The Idol of Sri Ranganayaki Thaayar is seen in a sitting posture. The Urchavamoorthy Idol of Sri Ranganayaki Thaayar is also kept in the same Shrine. The outer peripheral has a North facing Sub Shrine in which Sri Santhana Krishnan is seen. Then the Idols of Sri Sudharshanar and Sri Nathamunigal are seen West facing. The Idols of Sri Poigai Alwar, Sri Boothalwar, Sri Pei Alwar, Sri Thirumazhisai Alwar, Sri Nammalwar, Sri Kulasekara Alwar, Sri Perialwar, Sri Andal, Sri Thondaradipodi Alwar, Sri Thiruppanalwar, Sri Thirumangai Alwar and Sri Madurakavi Alwar are all North facing. Between these Alwar Idols is the Idol of Sri Paravasudevar who is seen along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. The Idols of Sri Koorathalwar and Sri Viswaksenar are seen East facing.

The outer peripheral has a well designed Chariot like Mandapam in which the Temple's Chariot is safely secured. The ceiling of the corridors are also painted in gorgeous designs making it appear still more beautiful. The outer peripheral has a grilled enclosure with a Vanni Maram standing tall. Beside it are the East facing Idols of Naaga Devathas along with an Idol of Sri Garudalwar and an Idol of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. This Anjaneya Swamy Idol is much revered and Garlanded with Beetal Leaves or Vetrilai Maalai. Close to this is an East facing Thulasi Maadam on which a small reclining Idol of Sri Ranganathar is seen. Then is an Arasa Maram or Peepal Tree near which is an East facing Sub Shrine. The Idols of Sri Krishna, Sri Srinivasa Perumal, Sri Baktha Anjaneyar are seen flanked on either side by two Adhi Seshan Idols.

Then the outer peripheral has a Sub Shrine of the Sthala Viruksham which is known as a Kaarai Maram which goes on to make the name of the place viz Karamadai. A Purohit is posted here for offering Poojas to the Sthala Viruksham. There is an East facing Sub Shrine of Sri Andal Nachiyar. This Sub Shrine has gold plating threshold and looks glittering. Sri Andal Nachiyar is seen in a standing posture in Her Sub Shrine. There is a South facing Sorga Vaasal or Paramapatha Vaasal meant to be opened on Vaikunta Ekadesi days. Facing this Sorga Vaasal is a North facing Sub Shrine of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. The Temple has a South facing Alankaara Mandapam which is used on festive days. There is a South facing Sub Shrine of Sri Ramanujar with a gold plated threshold on which the Images of Sri Garudalwar and Sri Anjaneya Swamy.

There is a Prasada Stall and a Divine Book Stall selling spiritual Books. There is a Madapalli or Temple Kitchen and an Annadhana Koodam. The Temple has Thulabhaara facilities for the sake of the Devotees. The Temple has a Vaahana Mandapam in which the Temple Vaahanams are safely kept. The Temple's Chariot is safely secured in a shuttered enclosure outside the Temple. Head Tonsuring in this Temple is done free of cost. Weddings can be performed in this Temple by submitting ample proof. Similarly Physically Challenged Couples Wedding is done free of cost. The Temple is situated in a busy area buzzling with shops and activities. Hence Devotees may find it cumbersome to park their vehicles in the limited space found near the Temple. It has been a habit here to park vehicles in all the Streets and Lanes close to the Temple.
