This Temple is known as Sri Mahaa Mari Amman Koil and it is located in a hamlet called Kiloy in Puthamangalam which is again very close to Manalmedu in Mayiladuthurai District. A small mud road leads from Manalmedu to Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Kiloy, Puthamanagalam. Its a recently built small Mahaa Mariamman Kovil with gorgeous paintings all around. The Presiding Deity is Maha Mariamman and is supposed to be a very powerful Goddess among the locals here. The Temple consists of a Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram leading to the Main Deity Sri Maha Mari Amman. Apart from this there are Sub Shrines for Sri Ganesan, Sri Murugan and Navagraham too. It is believed that this Goddess Mahaa Mariamman will cure any health issues of Her Devotees. Puthamangalam in recent days is getting known to the outer world since this is the birth place of the famous Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamoorthy.
