Margandeyar Temple is situated in T.Manalmedu or Thiru Manalmedu very close to Thirukadaiyur in Tharangambadi Taluk. The Presiding Deity is called as Mrigandeswarar and the Mother is called as Maruthuvathi Ambal.  It is considered that Markandeyar was born here to Sage Mrikandu Rishi. Lord Shiva is also known by the name Kaala Samhara Moorthi which means that He has defeated Lord Yama Here. The Temple is East facing with three tier Rajagopuram. Maruthuvathi Ambal has a separate shrine here. Sage Markandeyar too has a separate shrine here. There are shrines for Gajalakshmi, Bala Anjaneya, Vinayaka, Subrammanya, Bhairavar, Navagrahas, Sooryan and Chandran. A Rettai Pillayar could be seen on the outer premises.  Devotees are supposed to visit this Temple after having visited Thirukadaiyur Amirthakadeswarar Temple. There is a small shop within the premises where Pooja Items could be bought. This shop belongs to Mr.Palani whose phone number is 97500 91482
