Sri Ramanujar Temple is widely known here as Sri Ramanujar Mani Mandapam in Erumaipalayam in the outskirts of Salem Town. Sri Ramanujar Temple is also called by another name as Bhagawath Ramanujar Manimandapam. It is located in Erumaipalayam in Salem. The Temple is located amidst a range of hillock. This Temple was recently built in 2017 to commemorate the thousanth birth year of Sri Ramanujar. The entire Temple is built on an elevated platform and Devotees may have to climb a few steps to reach the Temple premises. The Presiding Deity of Sri Ramanujar is massive and the Idol is almost 18 feet in a seated posture and South facing. There are Idols of the Dasavatharam all around the Shrine of Sri Ramanujar.

There are a few other Sub Shrines in addition to this. They are as follows: 1) Sri Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal who is West facing 2) Thirumalai Sri Venkatachalapathy who is East facing, 3) Melkote Sri Chelluva Narayana Perumal or Thirunarayanapuram Sampath Kumara Perumal who is East facing and 4) Srirangam Sri Ranganathar who is South facing. It is considered by all elders that if these 4 Sub Shrines mentioned herein are visited along with the Presiding Deity of Sri Ramanujar, then it is equivalent of visiting the 108 Divya Desam. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Anjaneyar who is seen South facing. The hillock where the Temple has been built, the lush green Paddy fields around it and the Sun Rise and the Sun Set make the Devotees spell bound and mesmerized. The entire temple with its backdrop when seen gives a sense of immense satisfaction to any devotees visiting this place.

The Temple authorites have started building a huge Sub Shrine for Sri Aadhi Seshan in the outer peripheral of the Temple. Devotees coming to this Temple do not have a public transport facility and are therefore advised to come on their own. The Temple has an exclusive play area for the kids. Hence this is one rare Temple where the elders would enjoy the spirituality of the Temple whereas the Kids would enjoy the play area earmarked for them. The ten day Chithirai festival is celebrated with pomp. The Temple levies a Fee for any vehicle parked outside its premises.
