Sri Sahasra Lingeswarar Temple is located in a place called Ariyanur on the outskirts of Salem. Devotees have an option of climbing the hillock by foot and visit all the Sub Shrines. Otherwise they can also travel to these Sub Shrines in two wheelers or car too. It is wiser for the Devotees to opt a vehicle for travelling within the campus since walking all through would drain them physically and tire them out. The Temple is dedicated to Sri Arunachala Sundareswarar, who is an incarnation of  God Shiva and He is the Presiding Deity here. The Main Shrine has a five tiered Rajagopuram. There is a huge Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram and a massive Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam. This famous Temple has 1008 Lingams and has a big Nandhi in front of  the18 feet high Main Deity. Sri Arunachala Sundareswarar Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Sri Umayambika. Around the Presiding Deity of the Shiva Lingam there are Idols for Sri Dakshinamoorthy, Sri Lingothbhavar, Sri Chandikeshwarar and Sri Durgai.

This Temple is built on a Hillock. There are Shrines for all the Arupadai Veedu Murugan, Navagraha Sannadhi, Sri Rama along with Goddess Seetha, Sri Anjaneya, Sri Akshaya Aishwarya Lakshmi Perumal, Goddess Raja Rajeswari, Sri Annapoorani, Sri Arumugham, Sri Mahalakshmi and Sri Andal.Nachiyar. Around the Sri Ramar Sub Shrine there are Idols of all the Ashtalakshmi's. The Main Temple is surrounded by 108 Lingams. The last and 108th Lingam is the Biggest of all. There are 1008 Lingams in and around this Hillock. There is a huge Shrine for Sri Vinayaka at the Foothill. This Temple is surrounded by Sankagiri Hill Range. The Vinayaka Mission had a big hand in building this Temple. Devotees visiting this Temple get Blessed by other Deities located within this Temple complex. The Temple has a Temple Tusker and Devotees could visit the entire stretch of area free of cost. Any Devotee visitng this temple of Sree Sahasra Lingeshwarar will feel joyous seeing the Divinity and also the natural surrounding of this Vibrant Temple.
