Thennangur is a holy village located close to Vandavasi in Thiruvannamalai District. This Temple is called as Sri Panduranga Swamy Temple or Sri Pandu Ranga Perumal Temple. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Panduranga Swamy. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Ragumayee Thaayar. Some staunch Devotees call Sri Panduranga Swamy as Sri Vittal or Sri Vithal Pandu Ranga. The Temple is built by following the Northern and Southern styles of fusion architecture. This Temple Complex resembles the Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha and its front Gopurams have been constructed following the Pallava style of architecture. Both Orthodox Pooja Sampradaya of the South and the Bhajan Sampradaya of the North are followed in this Temple.

The Temple was built by Sri Gnanananda Swamigal and Sri Haridas Giri Swamigal. Sri Panduranga stands majestically 12 feet tall and is made of Saligrama stone. There are many Sub Shrines for Gods and Goddesses namely Sri Maha Shodasi, Sri Rajarajeshwari, Sri Saraswathi, Sri Lakshmi, Sri Brahmma, Sri Vishnu, Sri Rudra, Sr Easwara, Sri Vinayaka, Sri Bala Annapoorani, Sri Ashwaruda, Sri Rajamadhangi, Sri Varahi, Sri Prathyangira, Sri Sarabeswara, Sri Chakrathaazhwar, Sri Brahmmi, Sri Yoga Narasimha, Sri Agoramurthy, Sri Vanadurga, Sri Parasakthi, Sri Medha Dakshinamurthy, Sri Subramanya, Sri Chandi Mahalakshmi, Sri Maheswari, Sri Gaumari, Sri Vaishnavi, Sri Mahendri, Sri Chamunda and Sri Mahalakshmi. The Temple Tower is 120 feet tall and has a Nine and a Half feet tall Gold Kalasam along with Sudarshana Chakra and a saffron-coloured flag flying above the tower. Festivals like Vishu Kani Utsav, Gokulashtami are celebrated in a grand manner. Devotees have fondly started callimg this Temple as Dakshin Pandharpur or Pandharpur of South India. Thennangur is hogging the limelight in recent days with lots of Devotees turning up to this Temple on Weekdays as well as Holidays.
