Injimedu is a small village and Perundevi Nayaka Samedha Sree Varadaraja Perumal Temple is at the end of this street. This Temple consists of 2 Presiding Deities. One is Sri Varadaraja Perumal and the other one is Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Perumal. Both of them are considered as incarnations of Maha Vishnu. This is one of the most ancient Temples of this region and it has a huge Rajagopuram which is East facing. Lord Varadharaja Perumal is seen in a Nindra Thirukolam or standing posture in the Sanctum Sanctorum. Perundevi Thaayar is seen in an Amarndha Thirukolam or sitting posture in Her Sanctum Sanctorum. The Urchavar is called as Prahalladha Varadhar Swamy and He is seen along with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. Close to it Vigrahams for Vishwaksenar, Desikan, Kaliyan or Thirumangai Alwar, Ramanujar are kept on the left side. On the right side the Vigrahams of Archaryas are kept. There is a Sub Shrine for Chakrathalwar and Yoga Narasimhar who are kept back to back. The Chakrathalwar is unique since He is seen holding various weapons in all His hands. Likewise Yoga Narasimhar is also special since He has a third eye in His forehead and He is seen seated on an Aadhiseshan. It is very unique in this Temple to see both Rama and Lakshmana with their Bows and Arrows and on top of their Bows Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar is perched to give them that extra power and edge and in the same Sanctum Sanctorum Goddess Seeetha is found next to Lord Rama. Anjaneyaswamy is found there as like in other Temples but the speciality here is Garudalwar is also seen along with them which is very unique. Aandal occupies a separate Sub Shrine wherein the Dasavathara Vigrahams are found next to Her. There is a Sub Shrine for Sri Kalyana Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy who is seen with an extra eye on His forehead and He is seen in a sitting posture on a Aadhiseshan with Garudalwar beneath Him. Goddess Senjulakshmi Thaayar is seen sitting on the left lap of Kalyana Laxmi Narasimhaswami who is seen with just one sandal worn on His right foot so that He could rush to the needs of His Devotees. Yoga Hayagreevar too is found in the same Sub Shrine along with Kalyana Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy. Maha Sudarshana Homam is performed in a grand manner during Swathi Naksthiram or Star Day. It is believed that Devotees who have specific prayers need to pray in their house by lighting a lamp and sparing a Virali Manjal on each day for 48 days. On completion of such Prayer at home they could bring all the Virali Manjal and place it before Perundevi Thaayar as a stringed garland and if this is done their Prayers would be fulfilled automatically within the next few days. This holy place is on the banks of River Cheyyar and in ancient times this place was called as Yagnamedu. Some Devotees also call it as Dhakshina Ayodhi or Narasimhapuram. Sage Bharadhwajar is said to have visited this place and have made penance here. Luckily Injimedu happens to be the birth place of two former Jeeyars. The Vimanam of the Temple is called as Puniyakodi Vimanam. The Sthala Viruksham is called as Parijatham & Shenbagam whereas the Pushkarani or the Theertham is called as Suddha Pushkarani. The Temple has a Madapalli for distributing prasadam to all Devotees. A Ghoshala with more than 50 cattles are kept and very well taken care off. Devotees waiting for their Marriages, Childless Couple, Educational Prosperity and for getting an apt Job could come here and Pray before the Almighty. This Temple is being administered and maintained well by Ahobilam Mutt and the local Temple Staff have to be appreciated for the meticulous way they run the Temple and take care of the visiting Devotees explaining each and every thing to such persons.
