Jamunamarathur is located in the hilly terrain of Jawadhu Hills and it is place of tranquil environment. Sri Murugan Temple in Jamunamarathur is located amongst a picturesque atmosphere. Generally one way is to go to the Temple whereas through the other way / steps Devotees have to come down to the foothill. At the foothill of the Temple there is a Welcome Arch. Atop the Welcome Arch there are stucco Idols of Sri Murugan who is flanked by Valli and Devasena. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Murugan. Though small the Power of this Temple is mighty. Sri Murugan is found in the Moolasthanam in a standing posture holding a Spear or Vel. Facing the Moolasthanam of Sri Murugan is a Mayil Vaahanam. The Vimanam of the Sanctum Sanctorum has been well painted in a golden colour and the premises of the Temple is kept clean and tidy. There is a Sub Shrine of Sri Ganapathy and facing the Sub Shrine is a small Neivedhya Peedam and a Moonjur Vaahanam. The actual location of the Temple is that it is located close to Jamunamarathur Police Station on the way to Polur. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi in this Temple. Thai Poosam, Aadi Kiruthigai and Panguni Uthiram draws enormous number of Devotees from the adjoining places.
