Sri Yendhira Saneswaran Temple is located in Erikuppam in Polur Taluk of Thiruvannamalai District in Tamil Nadu. This is truly an ancient and historic Temple which looks roofless or in other words it is exposed to the vagaries of Nature like Sunshine, Rain, Wind etc. There are very few roofless Temples like this in Tamil Nadu.

The Presiding Deity of this Temple is obviously Sri Yendhira Saneeswara Bhagwan or Sri Endhira Saneeswaran and He is seen facing East majestically. He is Omnipotent and stands 6.5 feet tall with a width of almost 2.5 feet. On it is the Hexagonal or Shatkona Yandhira which is directly embossed over the Shiva Lingam. In a nutshell the Presiding Deity of Sri Yandhira Saneeswaran represents the Sun and Moon on its forehead and with a Crow in the middle since the Crow is His Official Vaahanam. On a careful observation of the Presiding Deity a  small Idol of Sri Mahalakshmi and Sri Hanuman are embossed on the base of the Presiding Deity. The entire Presiding Deity is seated on a Lotus and this is one of the rarest Temples in which Sri Saneeswara Bhagwan together with the Yanthira are embossed on the Shiva Lingam. 

 The Temple is located in a multi pillared Mandapam and atop the Gopuram Sri Saneeswara Bhagwan is seen riding a Chariot which is not driven by Horses but instead by several Crows. This coloured Idol atop the Gopuram catches the attention of Devotees entering the Temple. This Temple has a beautiful Sub Shrine of Sri Varasiddhi Vinayagar who has enormou following and this Sub Shrine is located on the peripheral of the Temple.The Pushkarani or the Sacred Tank is known as Baskara Theertham. This Temple is considered as a Sani Dosha Nivarthi Sthalam and it is flooded with Devotees during Sani Peyarchi festival Days. Lighting a Lamp with Ellu Oil, or Gingelly Oil or Til Oil is considered to drive away all the ill effects of the Devotees. Male Devotees are allowed with Pant, Shirt or Dhoti while Female Devotees can wear Sarees or Salwar Kameez with Duppatta.
