Sri Yoga Ramar Temple, Nedungunam, Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu

Some call this village as Nerkundram too. This is one of the biggest ever Rama Temples in Tamil Nadu. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Rama who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Seetha and Brother Lakshmana. Lord Rama can be found in a sitting posture and looks like as if He is teaching Vedas. This Temple is one the unique Rama Temple since here Lord doesn't have His Bow and Arrows.  The name of the Urchavar is Sri Vijayaragava Perumal who is seen with His Consorts Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi.  There are two sets of Urchavars since the earlier set was stolen and replaced by the newer version.  However after several years the earlier Urchavar too was recovered and both the sets are available in the Temple now.  This is the one of the few magnificent Temple that houses Lord Hanuman inside the Sanctum Sanctorum itself. The Temple comprises of a five tiered Rajagopuram and has a Dwajasthambam and Bali Peedam too. This Temple is built on a whopping 8 acres of land by King Krishnadeva Raya.  The Temple built during Vijayanagara period looks extraordinary with its Yazhi Pillars, but as on date the Temple gives a worn out look with almost no contributions from anyone.  The Ten Day Panguni Brahmmothsavam, Sri Rama Navami, 7th day Car festival, ten day Indravimana festival is celebrated in a grand manner.
