This Temple is located in Alapakkam which is part of Porur in Chennai. There is a Welcome Arch at the beginning of the street where the Temple is located. Lord Shiva in the form of a Lingam is the Presiding Deity here and is known by the name Paaleeswarar. Goddess Parvathi is called by the name Paaleeswari. Unlike other Shiva Temples the Lingam is placed on a square pedestal instead of a circular one and hence this is an indication that the Temple was constructed during the Pallava Period. The first Kumbabishekam was done in the year 1994. There is a Sthupi here in which Vaali, Sangu Chakkaram and Garuda are here. There are Shrines for Nardhana Ganapathi, Dakshinamurthy, Brahmma, Vishnu, Durgai, Chandeekeswarar, Kaala Bhairavar, Seetha Ramar Sannadhi, Anjaneyar apart from a Navagraha Sannadhi.
