The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Ranganathar, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The unique fact of this Temple is that the 14 feet long Deity of Lord Ranganathar is in Pallikonda or Reclained state. Lord Ranganathar along with His Consorts Mahalakshmi on His Chest, Sri Devi and Boodevi on either side blesses His Devotees. The Head, Chest and Feet of Lord Ranganathar have to be worshiped from different entry points. The Temple is located on a Hillock and the devotees have to climb nearly 150 steps to reach the main Temple. Recently they have started constructing a temporary road from the foot hill to the temple top. This rock cut Temple is a perfect example of the South Indian architecture. Raja Desingh had a very big hand in building this Temple. The walls of the Temple is 4.2 Kms long and encloses 2 towns and 5 forts of Raja Desingh. There is a sacred tank on top of the hillock and Devotees are allowed to take a Holy Dip.
