This Temple is also known as Arulmigu Thiripurasundari Udanaya Yamadhadeshwarar Temple and is located on the Main Road leading to Alagramam Village.  The Village Alagramam was earlier known as Alakoorai.  The Presiding Deity is Lord Shiva who is known here is Yamadandeeswarar and He is a Swayambhumoorthy here.  The speciality of the Temple is that, there is a squarish Shiva Lingam in the Sanctum Sanctorum whereas in other Shiva Temples it is found spherical.  His Consort here is  Goddess Thiripurasundari  who is an incarnation of Parvathi and She occupies a Sub Shrine facing South.  There are 2 Nandhi Statues, one is placed in the Sanctum Sanctorum just opposite to the Shiva Lingam whereas the other Nandhi is found on a pedestal outside the Temple and is known as Adhikara Nandhi and is prayed with Devotion during Pradosham.  Kanchi Maha Periyava was very keen on this Temple and had here visited 5 times in his lifetime.  There are Sub Shrines for Vinayagar, Arumugam (Murugan), Laghuleeswarar, Dhakshinamoorthy, Brahmma, Vishnu, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar.  The Vinayaga Idol placed in this Temple is even more much older to the Vinayaka Idol found in Pillayarpatti Temple and He is affectionately known here as Mootha Vinayagar.  There are Idols for all the 63 Nayanmaars.  Praying to Lord Yama Dhandeeswarar is considered to get rid of all evils of a Devotee and hence this Temple is known as Sarva Dosha Nivarthi Sthalam.  The Temple is getting spruced up very well under the watchful eyes of the Temple Administrator Thiru. Sakthivel.
